Job Description
OUTFRONT is seeking a highly motivated person for our Winter internship. This person will support the social media and communications teams by developing, writing, and producing social and press materials. This is a well-rounded and developmental role where you will gain real world knowledge of the company and industry, while also making an impact during your time with us. You will have the opportunity to work with industry leaders on a multitude of real projects. An internship with OUTFRONT gives you the knowledge and training you need to start developing your career. This position reports to the Head of Social Media at OUTFRONT and is based in New York.
The Intern is responsible for assisting the communications and marketing teams including but not limited to the below.
Social Media Responsibilities:

Contribute to daily ideation and output of social media content across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter/X, etc.

Strategy and Creative - Ability to share creative social-first ideas, with a finger on the pulse of culture and trends, that can identify genuine opportunities for OUTFRONT to contribute to the larger social media conversation

Community Management - Engage with client accounts and help grow our social followings by overseeing community management by moderating content, amplifying client social content, and sharing key insights across accounts. Plan and schedule approved content

Influencer Marketing – Create influencer toolkits for campaigns and identify social influencers and accounts

Data and Analytics - Continuously optimize social media by capturing and analyzing social data, insights, best practices, and providing actionable recommendations on that data. Contribute to client recap reports for social media-driven campaigns

Content Creation - Strong eye for design and visual aesthetics for social-first content and the ability to create original content when needed (video content, still graphics, press announcements, etc.)
PR Responsibilities:

Write and distribute bi-weekly/monthly campaign recaps for press pitching.

Assist in press ideation including brainstorming creative pitch angles, trends stories and other press worthy ideas.

Assist in monitoring press clippings to distribute to teams.

Provide support on event & press materials.

Preparation work for various upcoming exciting media events.

Research innovative public-facing events across the competitive landscape within our industry & beyond.

Gain understanding of press monitoring & distribution platforms such as Cision and PR Newswire.

Get hands-on experience working & collaborating with a press agency.

Manage media assets, including photos and videos related to all site content, from updating to tagging.

Assist with researching key categories and brands for our client solutions team.
Qualifications
-
Currently pursuing a degree in Media, Marketing, Communications, Journalism or a related field.

Interest in social media, PR and current knowledge of social & PR industry trends, practices, and tools.

Must be available at least two full business days within class schedule

Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Sprout, social listening tools, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter/X, etc., and image editing applications a plus (Adobe Creative Suite preferred).

Strong written and oral communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.

Must be a team player as well as a self-starter.

Must be extremely detail oriented, a quick learner and highly organized.

Ability to thrive in a demanding environment, requiring high degree of deadline-driven productivity, commitment, adaptability, communication, initiative, and follow-through.

Demonstrate ability to prioritize, multitask, and work with minimal supervision in a team environment.

Experience with using an organizational style guide or AP Style.
The salary for this role is $18/per hour. Compensation is determined during our interview process by assessing a candidate’s experience and skills relative to internal peers and market benchmarks evaluated for the scope and responsibilities of the position.
