The Social Media Officer is responsible for planning, scheduling and managing Harvesters Gbadagba's presence across its social media platforms, growing brand awareness and community engagement in line with set brand guidelines. The role works closely with the Graphics & Video team to ensure the right content reaches the right audience, at the right time, on every channel.
Overall, the officer must ensure that engagement and growth objectives are achieved consistently, and this will be tracked against monthly set goals.
KEY RESULT
Brand Awareness
- Grow the Harvesters brand's visibility and voice across all active social media channels.
- Ensure consistent, on-brand messaging, tone and use of approved brand assets in every post.
Content Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and maintain a monthly social media content calendar aligned with church programmes and campaigns.
- Schedule and publish approved posts, banners, and campaigns across all platforms on time.
- Liaise with the Graphics & Video team to source the visual and video assets needed to execute the content calendar.
Community Engagement
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages and mentions across platforms in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Foster an active, engaged online community and encourage member participation and interaction.
- Identify and escalate sensitive comments, complaints or pastoral needs raised on social platforms to the appropriate team.
Research and Reporting
- Review social media trends and platform updates, and recommend ideas for adoption.
- Track platform analytics (reach, engagement, follower growth) and prepare weekly and monthly performance reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing, Mass Communication, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2–3 years' experience managing social media platforms for a brand, organization or ministry.
- Working knowledge of major social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, TikTok, YouTube) and their analytics tools.
- Experience developing and executing content calendars.
- Experience in a church or nonprofit environment is an advantage
