AirDNA began with a big dream in a balmy California garage in 2015. Since then, the technology startup has grown into the leading provider of data and business intelligence for the multi-billion-dollar travel and short-term rental industry, with offices in New York, Denver and Barcelona and team members around the world.
Our self-serve platform equips Airbnb hosts and property managers with the smart, competitive insights they need to succeed in an ever-evolving market. We also arm enterprise clients with custom reports and in-depth dashboards so they can scale and invest strategically. Our customers include hundreds of top financial institutions, real estate companies, vacation rental managers, and destination marketing organizations around the world.
We track the daily performance of over 15 million listings on Airbnb, Vrbo, and Booking.com across 120,000 global markets. Hundreds of thousands of partner properties further inform our proprietary algorithms, producing the most accurate and comprehensive short-term rental dataset in the world.
In 2024, AirDNA acquired Uplisting, a powerful property management software that helps hosts and operators manage listings across Airbnb, Vrbo, and other platforms. With features like channel management, automated messaging, dynamic pricing, task coordination, and financial reporting, Uplisting expands our mission to support every stage of the short-term rental journey — from investment to operations.
The AirDNA team
We’re a curious, driven, and kind group of humans who genuinely love what we do. Our values — Happy, Hungry, Honest — guide how we show up for our customers and for each other.
Want to see what that looks like in action? You’ll get a feel once you meet us.
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and encourage you to apply even if you don’t check every box. Passion, potential, and perspective matter here.
AirDNA gives this role something most social teams never have: a constant, ownable stream of proprietary data that no competitor can replicate. Market trends before they hit the news, demand spikes tied to world events, numbers that journalists quote and investors act on. The raw material is exceptional, and the job is making it travel.
The Social Media Manager owns the system that turns all of that into compounding organic growth. Organic social across every channel, YouTube as an acquisition channel, proprietary podcast distribution, creator amplification with real measurement behind it, and executive thought leadership for AirDNA executives. It is an established function with channel presence and existing momentum, with significant room to build something bigger.
The role ships independently with full ownership over creative direction, production spend, tools, and content strategy. It reports to the Sr. Comms Manager, works alongside a dedicated research team of PhD economists and a PR and Content team already producing at scale, and sits inside the Acquisition pillar alongside Creative, Lifecycle, PMM, and Community. Every major activity is expected to tie back to traffic, sign-ups, or pipeline.
Here's what you'll get to do:
- Organic Social Strategy
- Own AirDNA’s presence across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube with channel-specific follower, impression, engagement, and conversion targets.
- Turn AirDNA’s proprietary data into social-native formats that travel beyond our existing audience: market rankings, supply trends, revenue benchmarks.
- Build a measurement system that ties social activity to traffic, sign-ups, and pipeline, and own the monthly report that presents those results to leadership. No vanity metrics.
- Partner with the Paid team to ensure organic and paid social reinforce the same narrative and boost the top-performing organic creative. YouTube as an Acquisition Channel
- Own YouTube content strategy in partnership with Content, Creative, and PMM: defining formats, cadence, and what earns the click.
- Treat YouTube as an acquisition channel with measurable conversion to product sign-ups, not a video archive.
- Manage freelance video production and editing to ensure on-time, on-brand delivery.
- Use AI tooling to compress production cycles and multiply output volume. STR Data Lab Podcast Growth
- Own the quarterly podcast content calendar in partnership with the host, aligned to ICP needs, SEO priorities, and industry trends.
- Source and prep guests whose own audiences create compounding distribution back to AirDNA.
- Turn every episode into a full distributable asset set: clips, quote cards, LinkedIn posts, YouTube uploads, newsletter blurbs.
- Drive listener growth quarter-on-quarter against a baseline set in the first 30 days. Executive Thought Leadership
- Own the thought leadership strategy for the CEO: ghostwriting LinkedIn posts, advising on content angles, and building a consistent public voice rooted in his background and vision for the STR space.
- Support the Chief Economist with distribution strategy and content guidance to systematize and scale his existing audience momentum.
- Identify two to three additional internal voices in the first 90 days and build a lightweight program around them. Brief and iterate with executives weekly.
- Build an employee advocacy infrastructure that makes it easy for AirDNA employees to share, engage, and act as brand ambassadors. Creator and Influencer Amplification
- Partner with the Community Lead to amplify top-performing creators through organic social and white-labeled boosting.
- Build and maintain a measurement layer showing which creators and campaigns drive traffic and sign-ups.
- Keep top partners engaged, informed, and active without it becoming a full-time relationship management job.
Here's what you'll need to be successful:
- Native-level fluency in English required, both verbal and written.
- 6+ years running organic social for a B2B SaaS, B2C, PLG, or media brand, with a track record of growing channels. Owned results you can point to, not just team contributions. Experience in the STR industry or data companies is a strong plus.
- AI is your default, not a party trick. You use tools like Claude, Descript, ElevenLabs, and Figma Make to move faster, produce more, and do things a traditional workflow couldn’t.
- You understand YouTube as a media product: titles, thumbnails, hooks, retention, CTAs, search optimization. You know why a video underperforms before the data tells you.
- A strong creative eye and enough hands-on production skills to move fast when needed. You can throw together a solid asset in Canva, direct a designer with a clear brief, and know the difference between the two situations.
- You understand podcast distribution beyond hitting publish. Whether you’ve owned a show, produced one, or run growth for one, you know how to build an audience, source guests who bring their own, and turn every episode into a content engine.
- Creator and influencer experience: building briefs, amplifying top-performing content, and managing relationships without it becoming overhead.
- You’ve ghostwritten for a named executive or founder and can walk through exactly how you did it: how you captured their voice, managed feedback, and kept it confidential.
- You’ve owned and managed budget independently: creative fees, production spend, and tools. Comfortable making trade-off decisions without upward approval on every line item.
- You measure your work by what it drives, not what it reaches. You can build a reporting framework from scratch, and you know how to tell the difference between a channel that’s growing and one that just looks like it is.
- You’re excited by the B2B/SaaS/tech space. You understand data-driven brands and prosumer audiences, and you have a feel for what resonates with operators, investors, and hosts.
