About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and creative Social Media Manager to develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy for Equip. As the single-threaded owner for Equip’s organic social media presence, this role requires a blend of strategic vision and tactical execution. The Social Media Manager will collaborate with Growth Marketing and Comms to ensure a cohesive look and feel across Equip’s paid social content and Equip co-founders’ social media accounts.
The Social Media Manager must be able to think big and develop long-term goals and initiatives while also diving deep to bring those objectives to life and analyze performance. This candidate will have a strong understanding of how social media impacts business and brand perception, with demonstrated experience in building brand loyalty and leveraging trends to increase brand awareness. They should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be a creative and innovative thinker, and have strong project management skills with an attention to detail. This role will report to the Head of Brand Marketing, and will work closely with Content, Creative, Comms, and Marketing teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies that align with brand goals and cross-functional business metrics across various social media platforms.
- Lead content creation, including copywriting and visual format, in collaboration with Content, Creative & Comms, with the ability to perform creative execution (e.g., video editing) as needed.
- Manage influencer and social partnerships budget and strategy, identifying high-impact partnerships and placements to increase top-of-funnel awareness.
- Leverage trends and algorithm best practices to sharpen our brand and engage new and existing audiences.
- Maintain a content calendar to ensure efficiency, alignment, and execution across stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with our online community, responding to comments and messages in a timely and sensitive manner. Foster positive conversations around our brand, services, and the eating disorder landscape.
- Utilize analytics to track and measure campaign performance and provide regular reports on key metrics. Use data insights to make informed decisions and recommendations to optimize both content and strategies for maximum reach and engagement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in social media management.
- Proficiency with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube etc.) and social media management tools (e.g., Brandwatch).
- Ability to plan innovative long-term content strategies and leverage trends and spontaneous opportunities for engagement. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences with little to no oversight.
- Proven experience communicating complex and/or sensitive topics in an accessible and equitable manner; familiarity with eating disorders, healthcare, and/or mental health landscape ideal but not required.
- Strong organizational skills and experience managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Familiarity with analytics tools (Google Analytics, social platform insights, etc.) to measure and report on performance.
Physical Demands
Work is performed 100% from home with no requirement to travel. This is a stationary position that requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards as well as to talk or hear by telephone. Sit or stand as needed.
