The role

We are seeking a Social and Community Development Specialist for one of our key projects in Balochistan. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social development, community engagement, and stakeholder management, particularly within large-scale water infrastructure or rural development projects.

  • Design and implement community development strategies tailored to the needs of local populations.
  • Facilitate meaningful stakeholder engagement to ensure the alignment of project objectives with community expectations.
  • Conduct social impact assessments and develop mitigation strategies where necessary.
  • Monitor and evaluate the social outcomes of the project, ensuring sustainability and inclusivity.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
  • Address grievances and manage conflict resolution processes in a culturally sensitive manner.

With a track record of achievement in a related role, you will have gained your experience in a consultancy environment and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.

Suitable applicants will have/be:

  • Tertiary qualifications or a related discipline (e.g. Masters in Social Sciences, Community development or a related field)
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in social and community development, preferably in rural or water infrastructure projects.
  • Proven expertise in stakeholder engagement and social impact management.
  • Familiarity with the socio-cultural dynamics of Balochistan is a significant advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in local languages being a plus.
