Division Sales Executive, Southeast
The Southeast Division Sales Executive is a critical component of the Small Commercial and Hartford leadership team and is responsible for delivering on significant annual profit and growth commitments. The Southeast Division covers the Mid-Atlantic, Nashville, Charlotte and Orlando/Atlanta Regions. The Southeast Division Sales Executive has leadership responsibility for four Regional Sales Leaders and fifteen Sales Representatives. The successful candidate will have a proven track record as a sales leader who balances passion and poise to drive results, creates followership and engagement from a high performing sales team and internal partners, and achieves strong and loyal relationships with external partners. This role is remotely based within the following states (TN, NC, GA, SC, VA and Washington DC).
Responsibilities
Execute on the Financial Commitments from the Division

Direct profit, growth, and distribution management for one of the five Small Commercial Divisions

Own strategy to deliver on key metrics for the division including Combined Ratio, New Written Premium, New Policy Count, Total Written Premium, Line & Industry Mix

Meet or exceed annual operating plan for the Division

Proactively manage effective resource/headcount deployment against sales plans and market opportunity
Role Model Leadership to Sales Team and Internal Partners

Own all aspects of talent management within the division including pipelining, onboarding, coaching and developing, performance management, rewards and recognition

Lead effective execution of sales practices, metrics, and operating routines

Partner exceptionally well with Underwriting, Product, Service, Claim, and all areas and other businesses of The Hartford

Provide creative thought partnership to SC Leadership Team to challenge status quo and encourage innovative strategies and solutions
Drive Successful Engagements with Distribution Partners

Strategically engage with all levels of agents from VIP agents to small agents with great opportunity including all agency types, structures, and affiliations to prospect for new Small Commercial business opportunities

Engage in a disciplined manner with our key distribution partners to drive balanced new business flow, protect renewal business, lead new product penetration and cross sell strategies

Oversee the building and execution of strategic agency plans to achieve financial commitments
Qualifications

Minimum of seven or more years as a sales or underwriting leadership role with a track record of successful financial performance metrics within a large division required; a minimum of five or more years of recent experience in property & casualty insurance required; commercial lines carrier experience strongly preferred

Proven track record of success as a leader of people; minimum of five years successfully leading teams of five or more people; experience leading leaders preferred

Demonstrated strong relationship and influencing skills; quickly earns and maintains the trust of business partners and colleagues

Confidently executes in a fast paced, high-pressure sales organization; combines passion and poise and exhibits exceptional executive presence

Exceptionally well organized in leadership and self-management including travel, handling competing priorities, and staying focused on key execution levers

Embraces a culture of collaboration and innovation and strives for continuous improvement and champions change

Geographic experience within the Southeast preferred

Must be willing and able to travel (minimum 50%) including overnights

Bachelor’s degree required, or other relevant advanced degree preferred
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$211,680 - $317,520
