The PositionThe Opportunity
At Roche, we believe care should start before disease takes hold. In this critical role based at our Brackengate site in Cape Town, you will serve as a vital generalist responsible for the end-to-end coordination and administration of our youth development programs and transformation initiatives. This position acts as a primary bridge between internal departments and external partners, providing specialized administrative support to the People & Culture (P&C) function to ensure site activities remain aligned with local statutory requirements and corporate transformation goals.
As a Skills Development & Compliance Coordinator, you will:
- Serve as the primary operational liaison for youth development initiatives, aligning internal departmental resource needs with program objectives.
- Manage communications and build collaborative relationships with external partners, including universities, colleges, academic institutions, and external funding bodies.
- Maintain, compile, and update the statutory site training register to accurately track learning interventions and monitor participant progress.
- Coordinate the collection of documentation required for compliance submissions to relevant local education and training authorities, including Workplace Skills Plans.
- Partner closely with local People & Culture and Legal teams to compile compliance reports and manage employee data in alignment with local equity standards.
- Manage operational logistics for equity forums, coordinate regular site policy audits to identify workplace barriers, and maintain meeting agendas and minutes.
- Provide dedicated ad-hoc administrative support, tracking the overall effectiveness of site employee engagement and transformation initiatives.
Who You Are
You are a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive administrative professional who possesses a passion for driving human resource development and equity initiatives. You bring excellent interpersonal skills that allow you to connect naturally with people across all levels of an organization, coupled with robust project coordination capabilities.
To set yourself up for success, you bring:
- Education: A National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of proven experience either within a corporate environment or relevant practice areas, focusing on legal administration, corporate social responsibility, or human resources support.
- Regulatory Knowledge: A strong foundational understanding of local statutory frameworks, including skills development levies, employment equity legislation, and broad-based economic empowerment codes.
- Digital & Collaboration Tools: High proficiency using a wide variety of electronic collaboration tools, such as Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Core Competencies: Strong command of written and verbal English, a high level of attention to detail, and a proven ability to balance multiple project tasks effectively.
