What we need
The Project Manager will lead cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, supply chain, finance, installation, commissioning, operations, suppliers, and customers - in delivering large-scale automation solutions at client sites. This highly visible role ensures teams remain aligned, execution stays on track, and risks are identified and managed early. Success in this role depends on crisp, proactive communication and the ability to bring together diverse groups to drive a common outcome. You will work directly with customers and Symbotic’s executive leadership and may provide oversight and mentorship to other project managers.
Remote, travel-based position 60%. The individual in this role will be expected to travel to and work on-site at the project they are managing. Candidates must be located in the Eastern or Central time zones to ensure effective collaboration with on-site and cross-functional teams.
What we do
The Project Execution team plays a critical role in bringing Symbotic’s automation solutions to life. We oversee projects from planning to system acceptance, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. Acting as the central connection point between technical teams, stakeholders, and customers, we create clarity, drive accountability, and ensure each project delivers measurable value to our clients and to the business.
What you’ll do
Ownership of project delivery, ensuring scope, cost, schedule, and quality objectives are consistently achieved.
Lead cross-functional teams through the execution phase of the project, from early site preparation and coordination to final system acceptance, while maintaining a strong focus on project goals.
Partner closely with engineering, supply chain, quality, installation, and commissioning leaders to coordinate timelines and ensure rapid, high-quality system delivery.
Proactively identify and manage risks & opportunities to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Facilitate cross-functional meetings, providing clear and consistent updates to both internal and external stakeholders to keep projects on track.
Foster a culture built on transparency, timely decision-making, and strong partnerships across all project participants.
What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 4 years experience managing large automation, material handling, or construction projects.
Proven experience in scheduling, scope, cost, and risk management for complex technical projects.
Background in robotic automation, ASRS, or material handling preferred.
Experience managing design/build, installation, and construction projects.
Skilled at stakeholder management across clients, contractors, and engineering teams.
Track record of delivery on time and within budget.
Strong problem-solving under pressure and ability to implement creative solutions.
Effective negotiator with proven ability to balance competing priorities.
Proficient with scheduling software, earned value management, and data-driven performance tracking (Smartsheet / Jira)
Willingness to travel up to 60%.
Our Environment
Up to 60% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.

The person taking this position will be required to perform work at our customer installation locations for extended periods where equipment is installed and ready for commissioning.
The employee is routinely required to work at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches. to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must comply with all safety requirements and protocols, including without limitation Lock out tag-out safety protocols and fall protection safety protocols.
Approximately 75% of site time will be spent on a construction site with PPE required (hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, fall protection (e.g., safety harness).
Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.

The base range for this position in the posted location is $101,000.00 - $138,600.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
