The job:
The IT Director for Thermo Fisher’s Monza site is accountable for end-to-end IT leadership, ensuring reliable, secure, compliant, and value-driving technology services that enable site operations. This leader owns site IT strategy and execution, drives operational excellence across run + change, and serves as the primary IT interface to site leadership while aligning to enterprise/portfolio standards in a matrix model.
A core expectation of this role is to deliver the digital foundation that enables site transformation—owning the digital products, platforms, integration, and technical expertise required to implement and sustain digital capabilities at the site. This role partners closely with the Digital PPI team, who lead change leadership, adoption, and measurable value realization for digital initiatives.
This role is fully site-based at our Monza, Italy site. Some international travel may be required.

What will you do?
- Site IT Leadership & Business Partnership
- Act as the single accountable IT leader for Monza; trusted partner to Site Head and site leadership team.
- Translate site priorities into a credible IT roadmap aligned to PSG IT&ES strategy, standards, and governance.
- Service Delivery & Operational Excellence
- Own site IT service performance across workplace, network, infrastructure, core applications, and local platforms.
- Lead incident, problem, and change management; ensure effective root cause, follow-through, and transparency.
- Digital Products, Platforms, Integration & Technical Expertise
- Own the site delivery of digital products and platforms, ensuring deployments are secure, compliant, scalable, and supportable.

Who we are looking for:
- A degree in: Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
- Multiple years progressive IT leadership experience, including site/plant IT leadership in regulated manufacturing environments
- Demonstrated success running mission- critical site operations (service reliability, incident/problem/change management)
- Experience delivering complex programs in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders and shared ownership
- Strong understanding of GxP/CSV expectations, audit readiness, and risk- based compliance
- Practical experience with IT/OT collaboration in a manufacturing environment
- Proven people leadership: team development, performance management, and cross- functional influence
- Fluency in Italian and English (written and verbal)
- Strong financial acumen for budget planning and resource allocation
- Experience with cloud technologies, AI/ML, and digital innovation
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity, risk management, and regulatory compliance
- Strong communication and presentation skills for executive- level engagement
- Demonstrated ability to implement innovation and change management
- Ability to travel up to 25% as required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience delivering digital products/platforms in manufacturing (e.g., MES/shopfloor integration, data platforms, operational visibility tools)
- Formal training/certifications: ITIL, PMP/Agile, cybersecurity fundamentals
- Experience with enterprise software platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft)
