WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
The Simulation Training Specialist will play a crucial role in developing and delivering medical simulation training. This individual will operate various simulation equipment and collaborate with a dedicated team to ensure optimal training outcomes.
Responsibilities include:
- Facilitate medical simulation training, utilizing part-task trainers, mannequin-based simulators, surgical simulators, and cadavers (site-specific cases).
- Design, develop, test, and implement training materials and scenarios.
- Support the setup of simulation supplies/equipment for training scenarios based on identified learning objectives.
- Operate and maintain simulation equipment, task trainers, computerized simulators, virtual reality, and other emerging technologies.
- Coordinate and provide support for student logistics and administrative tasks.
- Provide troubleshooting documents, simulator checklists, and simulation lesson plans/scenarios.
- Review simulation encounters, including after-action reports and identified metrics, providing feedback in monthly reports.
- Ensure availability, functionality, and preventive maintenance of simulation equipment and supplies.
- Conduct orientation and safety briefings for newly assigned personnel and students.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (Education, Medical). Equivalent years of relevant medical simulation training experience may substitute for the education requirement.
- Experience in medical simulation training and operation of simulation equipment. 3 to 5 years of related experience in education within the medical industry or 3 to 5 years of related experience as a healthcare professional in an applicable healthcare environment (training and education), or a combination of the above
- Strong knowledge of simulation-related audio-video recording systems.
- Ability to create troubleshooting documents and simulator checklists.
- Familiarity with Joint Simulation Encounter Forms (JSEF) and other stipulated metrics.
- Experience with DOD Medical Healthcare Environment.
- Expertise with a variety of medical simulation platforms.
- Managing staff on military installations in multiple work locations.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree (Education, Medical) preferred.
- Certification as a Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) or Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) through the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) is highly desirable.
- Expertise with a variety of medical simulation platforms (i.e., CAE, Laerdal, Gaumard, KGS, SynDaver/SynTissue, MOES).
- Four or more years of military medical experience preferred.

Salary: $55,000 - $72,000
