Primary Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to manage the Asset Protection distribution warehouse activities. Implement physical security guidelines to ensure facilities are considered a safe and secure environment for all associates and external parties. Ensure policies and procedures are monitored as it relates to product receiving and shipment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • "Implements and evaluates current and future Asset Protection strategies at assigned Distribution Center for optimum efficiency and effectiveness in the areas of shrink and physical security. Be present at facilities to ensure strategies are being followed per policy. Continuously analyze process and procedure, submit recommendations to supervisor, implement changes.
  • Trains, manages and develops the security officer staff. Responds to and manages personnel issues. Involved in grievance process for union associates.
  • Protects assets and prevents theft in the distribution facilities through training, proactive measures, surveillance and effective use of physical security systems. Conducts investigations into suspected theft and other company violations.
  • Manages the physical security of the facility and integrity of shipments in transit to the stores through audits, and tests of systems such as CCTV, alarms, card access and truck seals. Responds to emergency calls during weekends and off-duty periods.
  • Responsible for Distribution Asset Protection, security and safety activities. Prepares and submits weekly and period Asset Protection reports.
  • Conducts physical security risk assessments at all facilities, ensures compliance with Company Policies. Determines and executes appropriate actions to minimize risk.
  • Collaborates with internal Business Units such as Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Legal, Internal Audit and Information Security to establish and implement appropriate standards and controls associated with the supply chain processes. Acts as a Company liaison with Federal, State and Local law enforcement and court officials. Partners with the District Director to collaborate with Directors of Distribution, Facility Managers, and transportation to ensure shrink related concerns are addressed.
  • Prepares, manages and is responsible for the annual Asset Protection budget for appropriate distribution center(s).
  • Manages the assignment of security officers based on the facilities needs and performance. Decisions on CCTV, Alarms and Card Access placement in distribution centers. Decision-making in prosecution of distribution associates. Selection of security officer staff.
  • This position is responsible for protecting sensitive customer, associate and company information by: maintaining an understanding of company information security practices and controls; adhering to information security policies; ensuring the proper use of sensitive information; ensuring that vendors for whom the incumbent is responsible adhere to company policies; and reporting policy violations or information security breaches.
  • Responsible for ensuring that his or her supervisor is aware of all circumstances in which he or she uses sensitive customer, associate and company information, and where and how such information is stored and protected.
