Job Responsibilities:

Position Summary:  Partners with the Logistics Department to develop, implement, and maintain efficient material handling processes, both systemically and physically. Responsible for identifying, establishing, and maintaining appropriate inventory levels to support customer and production requirements. Communicates directly with customers and initiates corrective actions as needed to resolve delivery or inventory issues. Actively participates in continuous improvement initiatives and champions programs that enhance cost efficiency, quality, and delivery performance. Occasional after-hours and weekend work may be required.

Position Responsibilities:
Ensure a safe work environment.  Includes the following:

  • Compliance with all EHS policies and procedures is sustained.
  • Report and resolve any identified hazards. Investigate workplace accidents/incidents of which you are aware and/or within the work area(s) under your responsibility, which may include but is not limited to conducting interviews with employees, investigating the incident scene, preparing incident investigation reports, and implementing corrective actions.
  • In the event of a critical injury, ensure a worker representative of the Joint Health & Safety Committee is notified and assists with the investigation.
  • Support employees impaired through injury or illness to safely return to work (Return to Work program).
  • Participate in monthly EHS inspections.
  • Champion plant 5S activity, ensure regular audits are conducted and issues corrected to ensure the operation meets 5S expectations.

Ensure conformance to IATF 16949 quality management standards is sustained. 
Maintain process procedures and documentation as applicable.  Identify and suggest changes to procedures as appropriate.  

Plan, coordinate, and communicate daily work assignments and priorities to department employees.
Maintain and approve employee timecard corrections on a daily basis.
Foster and maintain a positive, team-oriented work environment that supports collaboration and accountability.
Promote and sustain housekeeping standards in accordance with 5S principles.
Manage and oversee change processes related to Logistics and Materials operations.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of Materials Department systems through all process changes, including monitoring ERP planning data within Shipping, Receiving, and Warehouse functions.
Communicate customer delivery performance metrics and expectations to team members.
Monitor, summarize, and report delivery performance while administering Magna and customer escalation processes.
Ensure compliance with customer supply chain requirements and maintain established performance expectations across the team.
Lead root cause investigations related to inventory discrepancies, shipping errors, sequencing concerns, and other logistics-related issues.
Participate in the planning, coordination, and execution of the annual physical inventory.
Develop and maintain production schedules, job rotation plans, and employee training matrices.
Coordinate production and shipping schedules with cross-functional departments to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Conduct daily workplace inspections and communicate health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and expectations.
Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

3+ years of warehouse, logistics, materials, or shipping/receiving experience in manufacturing. 
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to build and maintain a team-oriented work environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.
Familiarity with structured problem-solving methodologies and continuous improvement tools.
Ability to analyze inventory, shipping, and logistical issues and drive corrective actions to resolution.
Flexibility and willingness to cross-train and rotate with other Logistics supervisors as required.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
Willing to work additional hours as needed.
Willingness to travel for business needs as required. 

Preferred Skills and experience:

Working knowledge in inventory control, ERP/MRP/WMS systems, and warehouse operations and the MAGJIS Shipping System.
Working knowledge of Just-in-Time (JIT) and Just-in-Sequence (JIS) manufacturing principles.
Knowledge of Layered Process Audits (LPAs) and error-proofing audits, including identifying nonconformances and implementing corrective actions.
Experience managing customer and internal escalation processes.
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, JIT, and continuous improvement methodologies. 
Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification. 
Working knowledge of MAGJIS Shipping System.
