JOB SUMMARY:
The Cycle Counter verifies the accuracy of MRP system inventory records to the physical on-hand quantity through efficient use of cycle counting techniques. Identifies and resolves issues which contribute to the inventory variances.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs daily cycle counting of all assigned inventory. Analyzes inventory record transaction processes, detects the root cause of inventory record errors, and documents all inventory errors. Provides input to department Leaders for follow up and corrective action. Leads and/or assists Materials Department in organizing, monitoring, and taking of physical inventories. Maintains cycle counting processes and procedures as designated by Magna Mirrors and external accounting practices and policies. Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports. Initiates, develops, and implements corrective actions to prevent repeated inventory errors. Adjusts perpetual inventory as required by daily cycle counting results. May serve as auditor to Accounting to verify accurate inventories to achieve month-end closing. May assist Materials Department with assigned projects, continuous improvement activities, material handling, etc. Understand your responsibility for health and safety in the workplace. Cooperate with OSHA MIOSHA inspectors. Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. Follow all safety rules. Report unsafe conditions immediately. Report injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses, property damage immediately. Will not remove or make ineffective any protective device such as a guard, light curtain, etc. Will not use or operate any machine or equipment that the employee is not trained to operate. Will not use or operate any machine or equipment in a manner that may endanger any employee including themselves.
REQUIREMENTS:

Demonstrated problem-solving skills. A working knowledge of the BAAN system. Demonstrated ability to investigate problems and track down the source. Computer software knowledge (MS Word, Excel, etc.) preferred. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends as necessary. Proficiency in math as determined by a silver score or higher in the Work Keys assessment. High School diploma; or equivalent required. One or more years’ experience in material handling or warehousing preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have or be able to obtain a lift truck license for sit-down, standup, and order pickers. Must be able to regularly move and lift 50+ lbs. In the performance of audits. Must have a current and valid Driver’s License.
