Responsibilities

As a Ship Manager Representative, you will:

  • Lead the planning and execution of ship modernization projects.
  • Ensure that all modernization efforts are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise during the modernization process.
  • Ensure compliance with Navy standards and specifications.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the Navy and contractors/vendors.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among various stakeholders, including engineering teams, logistics personnel, and ship crews.
  • Monitor modernization activities to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Conduct inspections and evaluations of completed work.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all modernization activities and changes made to the ship.
  • Prepare reports on project status, challenges, and accomplishments for higher management and stakeholders.
  • Oversee the financial aspects of modernization projects, including cost estimates, budgets, and expenditure tracking.
  • Provide training to ship’s crew on new systems and equipment that have been installed or modernized.
  • Offer continued support and troubleshooting after modernization is complete.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
  • 10 years of experience in the following areas:
    • Engineering, naval architecture, or a related field.
    • Ship systems, maintenance, and modernization.
    • Excellent project management and communication skills.
    • Navy standards and operational requirements.
Pay Transparency StatementAMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $85,000.00/Yr. - USD $103,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. AMERICAN SYSTEMS provides for the welfare of its employees and their dependents through a comprehensive benefits program by offering healthcare benefits, paid leave, retirement plans, insurance programs, and education and training assistance.
