Thrivent’s Digital & Design team is looking for a user-centered research leader and practitioner to drive a strategic approach to research focused on Thrivent’s clients and prospects. As a Senior User Experience (UX) Researcher for the Discovery portfolio, you will lead research initiatives that help us better understand how to tell Thrivent’s story on our public-facing digital properties in a way that leads to long-term client relationships. Your role will play a crucial role in shaping the design of our digital experiences, as well as helping to build and grow Thrivent’s UX research practice.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead research projects and initiatives, leveraging strong relationships and expertise in UX research methodologies to deliver high-quality insights
- Support an environment in which Thrivent employees and colleagues are focused on continuous improvement, exceptional employee engagement, and an unwavering commitment to our clients
- Align research decisions with broader business goals and technical constraints, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality products that meet user needs and drive business value.
- Support the recruitment and hiring process, actively participating in candidate screening and interviews to build a diverse and talented research team
- Mentor and collaborate with team members, providing guidance and support in UX research best practices and methodologies
- Advocate for the importance of UX research in achieving strategic objectives
- Analyze and synthesize your research to create strong stories that resonate with audiences across design, product and technology
- Be an expert in UX research methodologies and frameworks, applying them not only to your own work but introducing them to the broader digital research team and practice
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Required:

Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in fields such as Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction or a related field

6+ years of proven experience as a UX Research or similar role, with a portfolio showcasing your ability to research to inform critical experience questions with extensive experience leading UX Research initiatives for digital products

Demonstrated expertise in UX research principles and methodologies and their limitations, including qualitative and quantitative research techniques

Strong problem-solving abilities, capable of uncovering actionable insights from complex data sets

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate research findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Proficiency in human-centered design, with a focus on understanding and addressing user needs

Leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams towards a common goal

Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment

The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $109,738.00 - $148,468.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other factors Thrivent deems important.
