Be the one building AI-powered experiences where they matter most.

At Genesys, we help organizations create better customer experiences through AI-powered experience orchestration. Our platform connects people, systems, data and AI to help organizations deliver more personalized service, improve operational efficiency and build stronger customer relationships.

Help build, support and operate technology used by more than 8,000 organizations in over 100 countries – moving AI from possibility to production in real-world enterprise environments every day.

Overview
As a Senior UX Design Technologist, you combine strong design expertise with technical fluency and AI capabilities to create thoughtful, intuitive, and high-quality workflows and experiences. You are a hands-on maker who bridges design and technology, translating ideas into polished, functional experiences. You understand the craft of UX and design systems. Your greatest impact comes from empowering others through shared skills, scalable workflows, AI-powered tools, and repeatable design practices.

You translate complicated technical capabilities and make them simple and practical for designers and researchers. You know what is worth automating and what should stay in human hands. You respect the distinct value of UX practice and earn UXers’ trust by making their work faster, not by replacing their judgment.

Your goal is not to own every task, but to make the technical ecosystem around UX easier, safer, and more effective.

Team

The UX Operations Team at Genesys enables design excellence at scale. We improve the systems, tools, processes, and shared practices that help the UX organization work effectively.

Reporting to the Senior Director of UX Enablement, you will work across the broader UX organization and partner closely with designers, researchers, Design Systems, Product, and Engineering. Your focus will be well-defined, repeatable UX work where technical skills can reduce manual effort, shorten backlog, and make proven approaches easier to reuse.

Location: Remote within US (Not limited to the states that the job is tagged to)

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Well-Defined UX Workflows: Use code, AI, and established design patterns to take on straightforward UX Ops backlog work where the problem and expected outcome are clear.
  • Harvest What Works: Identify designers who are already using AI effectively, capture the skills and techniques they use, and turn them into documented, shared assets for the UX organization.
  • Connect Tools and Capabilities: Use APIs, MCPs, skills, agents, and integrations to connect tools and information, remove unnecessary manual steps, and make common UX workflows easier to complete.
  • Make Technology Practical for UX: Translate technical capabilities into simple, useful guidance for designers and researchers, and partner with Engineering/PM when deeper technical expertise is needed.
  • Use Good Judgment: Know the limits of automation and AI. Recognize when a problem is well suited for technical acceleration and when it needs deeper research, exploration, or design judgment.

Qualifications
  • Experience: 4+ years in design technology, design systems, developer experience, UX or design engineering, or technical UX operations, with close work alongside both designers and engineers.
  • Technical Comfort: Comfortable with how software teams work (for example version control, code review, and APIs) and able to talk credibly with engineers. You do not need to be a software engineer.
  • Hands-On AI Experience: You use AI tools regularly and know when they help and when they don’t. You are fluent in the creation and use of skills and agents.
  • Explaining & Enabling: You explain technical ideas clearly to non-technical people and have helped others adopt new ways of working.
  • Curiosity & Independence: You can work without a detailed roadmap, spot opportunities, and follow them through.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Technical Tools & Development Fluency: Hands-on experience with Figma, Git-based version control (GitHub, Bitbucket, or equivalent), modern AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar, and front-end technologies such as React, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Comfortable working with APIs, MCPs, and integrations to connect tools and automate workflows. You do not need to be a software engineer, but you should be able to build functional prototypes, work with existing code and components, and collaborate credibly with engineers.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in designing for enterprise-level applications, services, or platforms (specifically support or call centers).
