Job Description

The Senior Trial Attorney represents insured and the Company in the defense of bodily injury and property damage lawsuits, subrogation, and other Allstate Legal matters. The position prepares for and conducts hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducts depositions and examinations under oath and prepares summary documents

• Prepares witnesses and clients for depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials including expert witnesses

• Keep claim business partners updated on status (initial client contact, initial litigation plan, recurring contacts, strategy conferences, pre-trial, etc.)

• Contacts clients to discuss their case and answer any questions

• Review new file assignments, all documentary evidence, and approve initial pleadings, propound discovery, and/or develop strategy

• Investigate and pursue subrogation litigation as appropriate

• Draft post-trial motions

• Try and/or arbitrate cases by preparing motions, motions in limine and summary documents in limine

• Conducts settlement/dispositive proceedings (e.g., mediations, arbitrations, etc.)

• Prepares and conducts court appearances (matter management conferences, hearings, status conferences, etc.)

Education

• Juris Doctor (Required), and active membership in good standing with the Texas State Bar

Experience

• 5 or more years of experience (Preferred)

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This job does not have supervisory duties.

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is $85,600.00 - 152,650.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
