Our Hi-Rel Space Product and Test Engineering Group is seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer to join our team in Palm Bay, Florida. Our team develops radiation-hardened integrated circuits (ICs) for the space industry, where reliability, precision, and performance are critical.
In this role, you will independently develop, debug, and implement automated test solutions for analog and power management ICs. You will work closely with Product Engineering, Design Engineering, and other cross-functional teams, with direct access to our on-site production test floor.
Responsibilities include developing test methodologies, defining test requirements, designing test schematics, PCB layouts, and hardware, developing and debugging characterization and production test programs, correlating automated test results with bench measurements, and transferring validated test solutions into production.
This position offers the opportunity to apply your semiconductor test engineering experience to technically challenging applications while contributing to the development and production of high-reliability ICs for the space industry.
Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
Primary Responsibilities
- Independently develop and implement automated test solutions for new analog and power management ICs.
- Define test requirements for new ICs in collaboration with product development and design engineering teams.
- Develop, debug, and execute characterization programs to evaluate device performance and verify test requirements.
- Develop, debug, and optimize production test programs for automated test equipment (ATE).
- Design and troubleshoot load boards, test schematics, PCB layouts, and supporting test hardware.
- Correlate automated production test results with bench measurements to verify accuracy and consistency.
- Perform Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) studies to evaluate measurement system performance.
- Perform transient analysis, spike detection, and de-glitching to identify and resolve test-related signal issues.
- Troubleshoot complex test problems, analyze results, and recommend practical engineering solutions.
- Support the validation and transfer of test solutions into production, working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience developing and debugging test solutions for automated test environments, preferably within the semiconductor, defense, or aerospace industries.
- Experience testing analog and power management ICs, such as Low-Dropout Regulators (LDOs), Buck Regulators, Power Management ICs (PMICs), or Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) Controllers.
- Hands-on experience developing, debugging, and troubleshooting automated test programs.
- Experience with semiconductor test methodologies, device characterization, and test hardware.
- Ability to independently analyze technical problems, evaluate test results, and develop effective solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ETS-364, Teradyne microFLEX, Advantest V93000, or comparable semiconductor ATE platforms.
- Experience with bench-to-ATE correlation, GR&R studies, and production test transfer.
- Familiarity with transient analysis, spike detection, and de-glitching.
- Experience with high-reliability semiconductor applications, including aerospace, defense, or radiation-hardened ICs.
