Senior Test Automation Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Test Automation Engineer to join our engineering team in Prague. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of software testing principles, hands-on experience in test automation, and a proactive approach to driving engineering best practices, including Shift-Left testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases.

• Regularly review, update, and maintain existing regression tests to ensure they remain effective, relevant, and accurately validate the system's functionality.

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.

• Conduct manual testing, when necessary, particularly for exploratory, edge cases, and ad-hoc testing.

• Identify, log, and track defects in collaboration with the development team.

• Work closely with developers, and other stakeholders to ensure test coverage is comprehensive and that quality is embedded throughout the development process.

• Engage in discussions of requirements from the beginning of the development process to provide input on testability and ensure that quality considerations are integrated into the design and development phases.

• Teach, and openly learn from your teammates.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies (e.g., unit testing, integration testing, system testing) and expertise in advanced testing techniques (e.g., Boundary Value Analysis, Equivalence Partitioning).

• Strong experience with automation and automated testcase design.

• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to deliver difficult feedback (e.g., defects and bugs) constructively.

• Experience with manual testing.

• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab) and integrating automated tests into pipelines is a plus.

• Experience with Shift-Left testing and early defect detection strategies.

• Familiarity with a programming language is a plus.

• Tricentis Tosca knowledge is a plus.

• Experience in performance testing or security testing is a plus.
