We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Writer to create clear, accurate, and user-centric technical documentation for enterprise software products. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about simplifying complex technical concepts and delivering high-quality documentation that enhances the developer and customer experience.
As a Senior Technical Writer, you will collaborate closely with Engineering, Product Management, QA, and other cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive documentation for software applications, APIs, and technical workflows. You will own documentation projects from planning through publication, ensuring content remains accurate, up to date, and aligned with product releases. The role requires a strong understanding of Docs-as-Code methodologies, structured authoring, and modern documentation practices to deliver scalable and maintainable technical content.
RequirementsKey Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and publish high-quality technical documentation for software products, APIs, and developer resources.
- Own documentation projects from planning, content development, technical review, and final publication.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, QA, and other stakeholders to gather technical information and ensure documentation accuracy.
- Develop developer-focused documentation, user guides, API references, release notes, and knowledge base articles.
- Validate documentation through technical reviews, product testing, and collaboration with subject matter experts.
- Manage documentation using structured authoring principles and Docs-as-Code workflows.
- Work with Markdown (MD/MDX), Git, and version-controlled documentation repositories.
- Continuously improve documentation quality, usability, and information architecture to enhance the end-user experience.
- Troubleshoot documentation workflows, identify process improvements, and implement best practices for content management.
- Ensure documentation aligns with product updates, software releases, and organizational documentation standards.
- 5+ years of experience in technical writing for enterprise software or technology products.
- Proven expertise in creating developer-focused documentation and API documentation.
- Strong understanding of structured documentation methodologies and Component Content Management Systems (CCMS).
- Hands-on experience with Markdown (MD/MDX), Docs-as-Code workflows, and Git command-line tools.
- Experience producing technical guides, installation manuals, API references, release documentation, and developer documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across cross-functional teams.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple documentation initiatives simultaneously.
- Familiarity with relational databases, analytics platforms, or data warehousing concepts is an added advantage.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud is desirable.
- Experience with documentation tools such as MadCap Flare, Confluence, Jira, or similar platforms is a plus.
- Basic programming knowledge and the ability to understand software architecture, APIs, and development workflows will be an advantage.
