Job DescriptionPosition Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled technical writer to join our company. As a Senior Technical Writer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality technical documentation for our digital health enablement and interoperability platform. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work closely with R&D teams to transform complex technical information into appropriate content for internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Write and maintain product documentation, such as product manuals, context-sensitive help and release notes.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information and ensure documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Review and improve existing documentation to enhance clarity, consistency, usability, and effectiveness.
- Develop and document documentation processes, standards, style guides, and best practices.
- Assist with improving documentation infrastructure.
- Manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Science or related field; or equivalent industry experience.
- 3-5 years of experience as a technical writer, with at least 2 years in the IT sector.
- Proven ability to write clear, concise and well-structured technical documentation for a technical audience.
- Strong proofreading skills with attention to detail.
- Experience using an authoring tool.
- Basic understanding of software development and technical concepts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an Agile-like environment.
- Experience using Component Content Management Systems (e.g. Paligo, MadCap, Author-it).
- Knowledge of programming concepts.
- Knowledge of markup and style sheet languages (e.g. HTML, CSS, and XML).
- Familiarity with API tools such as Swagger or Postman.
- Familiarity with developer platforms (e.g. GitHub).
- Experience using the Atlassian suite of products (particularly Confluence and Jira).
