Position Overview
The Senior Manager, Technical Sales – India develops a team of Technical Specialists (TSs) supporting technology solutions across regional and Territory accounts.
This role owns the overall technical sales strategy, ensuring technical engagement is aligned with account priorities, sales forecasts, and growth objectives.
The Senior Manager serves as a strategic leader and advisor—aligning technical sales insights with sales team forecasts, driving technical orchestration across accounts and solution areas, and providing structured, strategic feedback to senior leadership.
Responsibilities
Manage team or teams of Account Technical Leads (ATL), Territory Technical Leads (TTL) and Technical Sales Specialists (TSS). Select, develop and build teams by recruiting resources, defining staff development areas and providing ongoing feedback, coaching, training, and development. Evaluates performance and promotes ongoing development.
Motivate and develop team to achieve company goals and objectives. Coach teams to define/develop Technical Roadmaps to drive solution sales.
Arrange regular team calls to provide business updates.
Continually evaluate organization structure to ensure success through alignment with Sales teams, allocate resources as needed.
Keep Technical Sales operating expenses within budget.
Establish strong working relationships across GEOs, Sales, Consulting, Industry Strategy and Marketing, Channel Readiness and other groups to gain insight and appropriately structure teams.
Act as the technical interface to corporate product groups. Provide guidance to product groups on new product enhancements and prioritization of new features. May be involved with launching new products.
Participate in forecast calls, account planning, and other management meetings either virtually or in person.
Develop and execute an annual business plan.
Support product group or sales development activities in order to drive sales and generate additional revenue.
Develop and deliver product based and industry-related trainings in order to increase reseller technical competencies. Leverage internal staff and external contractor resources to educate and inspire reseller technical staff on an ongoing basis.
Review and recommend sales quota alignment with sales compensation plan design in order to drive appropriate behavior.
Drive effective use of sales processes, tools and methodologies within the team.
Maintain technical knowledge of product line and company’s industry focus to perform Technical Discovery, demo or present Solutions as needed.
Support sales opportunities & industry events with presentations of Autodesk portfolio and industry fit.
Minimum Qualifications
10–15 years of experience in technical sales, sales engineering, solutions consulting, or enterprise technology roles.
5–7 years of people management experience, including leading managers and/or senior level technical professionals.
Proven experience supporting complex, multi stakeholder enterprise sales cycles, particularly for emerging or innovative technologies.
Strong background in value based selling, ROI analysis, and executive level customer engagement.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading Design, Make and Operate technology or innovative focused sales motions within a large enterprise or global organization.
Demonstrated success managing multiple stakeholders with an matrixed organization.
•Strong executive presence with the ability to influence C level and VP level stakeholders.
Experience shaping or influencing product, solution, or go to market strategy based on field insights.
