Zoox is looking for a technical program manager to support our manufacturing test development efforts. In this role, you will work cross-functionally across manufacturing, engineering, and contract manufacturers to help us deliver our milestones. You will take on the role of a bridge between test development and engineering, develop project schedules, identify risks, and drive internal and external teams to meet deliverables.
The Test and Diagnostics Engineering (TDE) team is responsible for test solutions across component testing at contract manufacturers to the manufacturing testing for our robots at our robotaxi manufacturing facility. Our product responsibilities range from the sensor stack, control boards, compute units, to the complete robotaxi platform. The team is located in Foster City and Hayward, with a mix of responsibilities spread across both these sites. In addition to test development, the team also delivers the infrastructure such as APIs, dashboards and platform solutions all of which come together as test solutions.
Zoox is a fast-paced environment and we expect our TPMs to seamlessly switch between the technical and project management aspects of this role.
In this role, you will
- Ensure test solutions (software, hardware, documentation) are delivered on-time and meet program goals.
- Establish KPIs and build the tools needed to track and ensure deliveries are on track. This TPM will be expected to provide high level summaries but also drive urgency across various teams (internal and external to Zoox) to meet aggressive build schedules.
- Work with the cross-functional leadership teams to define team deliverables aligned with our company milestones and strategy
- Establish strong relationships with cross-functional teams to keep complex projects on track
- Use tools and methodologies from past experience to organize the deliverables across multiple internal teams
- Work with finance and senior leadership to draft and drive aspects such as resource allocation, headcount and budget
Qualifications
- BS or MS in engineering (electrical/electronics, computer hardware, software or related fields)
- 8+ years of industry experience in a similar role spanning engineering or project management
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing testing of electronic assemblies
- Excellent communication skills across diverse audiences (senior management, engineers) using written and verbal methods as appropriate
- Prior experience in working with contract manufacturers, automotive suppliers
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience in an electronics manufacturing environment is a definite plus
- Deep technical understanding of electronic assemblies (hardware, firmware and related software) and/or automotive components
- Proficiency in the tools of the trade - Google suite, data analysis, gantt charts, jira
- Ability to distill complex technical information into clear messages for the audience
- Track record of managing complex projects at an electronics or AV companies
- Familiarity with programming with python, SQL and data analysis and the linux environment, familiarity with AI tools.
