A Day in the LifeWe have an exciting brand-new role for a Senior Strategic Sales Specialist to join our Nellcor portfolio team within Acute Care and Monitoring business. The Senior Strategic Sales Specialist partners with regional sales representatives while maintaining a separate reporting line, ensuring focused effort on the deals that matter most without disrupting account ownership.The below section is pasted into Job specific summary field in Workday:
Based in New Zealand and reporting to the National Sales Leader, you will be responsible to increase win rates, deal velocity, and commercial quality on complex, high‑value opportunities by applying deep solution expertise and structured deal execution. We are flexible on location and candidate can be based in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
Engage in selected, high‑impact opportunities to improve probability of close by applying structured deal strategies and aligning solution value to economic and clinical outcomes
Lead differentiation by positioning portfolio advantage in bundled and enterprise solutions
Support opportunities involving multiple stakeholders, bundled product portfolios and tenders, evaluations or long buying cycles
Partner with pricing, contracts and marketing to shape deal structure and improve
Work in close partnership with internal commercial teams and demonstrate field capability uplift by coaching regional reps through deal strategy, competitive positioning and value articulation.
Maintain clear records in Salesforce.com
Support accurate opportunity staging, close plan and next steps
Contribute to insight on deal quality and risk for forecast reviews
Share best‑practice examples and contribute to standard deal playbooks and sales assets
Required Knowledge and Experience:
7+ years’ experience working within the patient monitoring marketplace
Proven track record in business development, marketing, and/or sales within the healthcare or medical device sector.
Possesses a robust understanding of the marketplace, including competitor activity, emerging trends, and customer needs. Able to analyse market data and translate insights into actionable strategies for business growth.
Skilled at developing and maintaining relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), clinicians, and other stakeholders. Has a proven ability to facilitate engagement, organize educational events, and build networks that drive business impact.
Has experience with cross function/business relationship development and third-party vendors, such as OEMs.
Works effectively across teams, contributing to strategic planning and workflow optimization. Brings a proactive, organized approach to collaboration, ensuring alignment with sales, marketing, and product management functions.
