We’re looking for a Senior Strategic Finance Manager to be the key finance partner to Xero’s UK go-to-market (GTM) organisation.
You’ll work closely with UK and Global leaders to improve commercial decision-making, improve visibility of performance, and ensure resources are directed to the highest-value opportunities.
You’ll lead planning, forecasting, performance analysis, and scenario modelling across the UK GTM organisation, bringing financial rigour and commercial judgement to decisions on growth, investment, and execution.
This role suits someone who enjoys operating close to revenue teams, is comfortable working through ambiguity, and can turn analysis into action.
How you’ll make an impactYou will help the UK leadership team make better, faster, and more commercially grounded decisions.
You’ll do that by creating clarity on performance, improving planning and forecasting, and building robust analysis that helps the business evaluate trade-offs with confidence. You’ll be expected to challenge assumptions, surface risks early, and focus attention on the choices that will have the biggest impact on growth and efficiency.
Over time, you’ll become a trusted finance partner to senior stakeholders and a key contributor to how Xero prioritises investment and delivers performance in the UK.
What you’ll doPartner with UK GTM and global finance leaders to translate commercial priorities into clear financial plans, targets, and trade-offs.
Lead the UK planning cycle, including annual budgets, rolling forecasts and longer-range planning.
Analyse business performance across revenue, cost, productivity and profitability, identifying the drivers behind results, risks and opportunities.
Build and maintain robust financial models to support investment decisions, scenario planning, resource allocation and business cases.
Provide clear, practical insight that helps leaders understand both financial and operational performance.
Strengthen performance reporting so leaders receive timely insight that supports action, rather than simply more data.
Support decisions on operating expenditure and headcount, helping ensure investment remains aligned to strategic priorities.
Evaluate commercial opportunities and GTM initiatives with rigorous analysis, clear assumptions, and practical recommendations.
Improve finance processes, models and reporting so they are scalable, reliable and useful for decision-making.
Build strong relationships across finance and the wider business, using credibility and sound judgement to influence outcomes.
Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, models and reporting through better use of data, automation and AI-enabled tools.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
8+ years’ experience in strategic, commercial or GTM finance, FP&A, strategy consulting or investment banking, with a track record of using rigorous analysis to inform planning, investment or commercial decisions in a complex business environment.
Experience partnering with senior GTM, commercial, or regional business leaders and influencing decisions through financial analysis and commercial insight.
Strong financial modelling skills, including scenario analysis, investment evaluation and business cases.
Digital and AI fluency: You are comfortable using modern data, automation and AI-enabled tools to improve the speed, quality and scalability of financial analysis, modelling and reporting.
Strong performance-analysis skills, with the ability to identify what is driving results rather than simply report them.
The ability to explain complex financial issues clearly and turn them into practical options and recommendations.
Strong commercial judgement and the confidence to challenge assumptions constructively.
The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on analytical work and follow-through.
Clear communication skills across operational, technical and executive audiences.
Experience in a high-growth technology or SaaS environment.
Experience supporting a regional leadership team or market-level P&L.
A professional qualification such as ACA, CFA or CPA.
Experience using data visualisation or reporting tools to communicate insights clearly.
UK leaders have a clear, actionable view of performance, risks and opportunities.
Planning and forecasting are robust, transparent and useful for decision-making.
GTM investment, resourcing and commercial decisions are supported by rigorous analysis and clear recommendations.
Risks and delivery trade-offs are surfaced early and discussed openly.
Reporting and models are trusted, scalable and fit for senior decision-making.
You are seen as a credible finance partner who brings constructive challenges and practical solutions.
Cost discipline improves while protecting strategic priorities.
Apply even if your experience isn't a perfect match! At Xero, we hire based on your skills, passion, and the unique perspective you can bring to enhance our culture and team.
