Job Description
Team & Role
Moveworks, now part of ServiceNow, is building the agentic AI layer that sits between every employee and the systems they rely on. Following the acquisition, the Moveworks Business Unit is one of the most strategically important investments at ServiceNow — and the scope of what we own is expanding fast. We are looking for a Director-level Technical Program Manager (Individual Contributor) to lead our most critical programs end to end, starting with the ServiceNow integration and growing into a broader portfolio over time as the BU scales.
This is a senior, highly technical IC role for someone who has spent most of their career running infrastructure, platform modernization, or large-scale distributed systems programs. You will manage the program — directly, end to end — and your influence will come from technical depth, sharp judgment, and an ability to align engineering leaders, executives, and partner organizations around a single execution plan. As the Moveworks BU scope expands, so will yours.
What you get to do in this role:
- Own the Moveworks Infrastructure portfolio of strategic and technical initiatives. Your primary focus will be to drive the roadmap and execution plans for Moveworks Infrastructure initiatives; as you scale you will also take over from engineering infra operational processes like capacity planning and budgeting
- Focus on initiatives expanding MW Infra footprint. We are moving to a tri-cloud + on-prem + SPC strategy where we need to develop the tools and process for managing our infra stack across diverse environments. Align any ambiguous strategic direction into concrete milestones, dependencies, and decision points.
- Run the program, not the people. As the TPM, you will be the connective tissue across engineering, product, design, security, GTM, finance, and field organizations — driving outcomes through clarity, structured decision-making, and relentless follow-through.
- Identify and resolve technical misalignment. Spot misalignment across teams, architectures, and roadmaps early — before it becomes a delivery risk — and partner with engineering leads to drive resolution quickly. Lead architecture reviews, surface cross-system risks (latency budgets, blast radius, multi-tenancy, AI safety, evals), and broker tradeoffs between engineering teams.
- Build the operating system for the program. Status, risk, scope, and decision logs that engineering directors and VPs actually read. Quarterly planning rhythms that reflect reality. Executive narratives that are honest about where things stand.
- Be the senior partner to engineering leadership. Pair directly with Distinguished Engineers, VPs of Engineering, and product leaders. Represent the program to the CTO, CPO, and executive staff. Own the message.
- Define TPM excellence. As we grow and expand our TPM team, you will serve as the model for how to operate. Set the standard for what senior technical program management looks like at Moveworks, mentor TPMs across the org without being their manager, and codify the patterns that scale.
- 12+ years of technical program management experience, with most of that time spent on infrastructure, platform, cloud, reliability, developer productivity, or modernization programs. You have operated at staff, principal, or director IC scope on programs where the hard part was not coordination alone, but understanding technical dependencies, sequencing migrations, managing reliability risk, and helping engineering leaders make durable tradeoffs.
- Deep technical fluency across infrastructure modernization domains — distributed systems, cloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes, multi-region and multi-cloud architectures, hyperscaler platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), identity, data platforms, observability, reliability, and migration strategy. You do not need to be the architect, but you need enough technical depth to pressure-test plans, spot cross-system risk, and earn credibility with senior engineers.
- A track record of leading cross-org programs involving 100+ engineers, multiple VPs, and competing roadmaps — ideally including at least one large-scale integration, migration, or platform unification.
- Excellent written communication. You can compress a 200-engineer program into a one-page exec narrative without losing the truth of it. You write decision docs that hold up under scrutiny.
- Strong technical judgment under ambiguity. You know when to dig in, when to delegate to engineering leads, and when to escalate. You are comfortable saying “this plan won’t work” in a room full of senior leaders.
Strongly Preferred:
- Prior IC senior TPM experience at a hyperscaler, large SaaS platform, or AI-first company.
- Comfort operating across SaaS, on-prem regulated, and government cloud (FedRAMP, IL5) deployment models.
- Experience leading post-acquisition technical integration programs at scale.
- Background in agentic AI, conversational AI, or AI assistant platforms — you understand why agent runtimes, tool calling, RAG, and evals are not the same problem.
- Quarter 1: You have a grasp of the Moveworks replatform roadmap and are driving the execution plan for the first release helping the team address blockers. Engineering leaders across ServiceNow and Moveworks trust your judgment and pull you into the rooms that matter.
- Quarter 2: You are able to scale to drive multiple releases going on in parallel on the Moveworks replatforming roadmap as well as the current infrastructure expansion and improvement initiatives, and proactively surface key risks to the plans and drive the path to mitigation. The executive staff has confidence in the plan because the plan is honest.
- Quarter 3-4: Team has successfully delivered 1 or 2 releases on the roadmap under your leadership; major milestones land on time and at quality, and you are a trusted partner for infrastructure leadership and team
Why This Role:
This role is especially compelling for senior TPMs who have operated in high-scale infrastructure environments and want more ownership than a narrowly-scoped platform program can offer. You will get the scale, technical complexity, and executive visibility of a large technology company, combined with the pace, ambiguity, and scope expansion of a fast-growing AI business unit.
Most senior TPM roles come with a fixed scope and focus on driving meetings and reporting the status. This one is different. It is a seat at the center of the Moveworks BU which is growing at an unprecented rate — your scope will expand as the BU scales. You will be measured by the technical and business outcomes you drive. If you thrive in an environment where you have the agency to move the needle for the company and learn something new every single day, then this role is for you.
