- An AI-first onboarding and activation flow. New users should hit their "it just works" moment with Spark in minutes, not days. You'll crack the cold start problem for an agentic product — what users see before they've entered any data, how they build trust in an agent's output, what earns the second session — and design the journey that gets them there.
- Growth patterns for an agentic product. Nobody has fully solved activation, habit, and expansion for agent-driven products yet. You'll define the patterns — living and breathing the evolving standards for how these products operate and build habits, from being inside the latest tools every day.
- The evidence base for what matters. You won't be handed a backlog — you'll shape it. You'll use product analytics, session data, user research, and Spark itself to find where the journey breaks, back your intuition up with numbers, and make the case for what the team works on next.
- A high-velocity experimentation practice. Hypothesis, prototype, experiment, learn — in days. AI has collapsed the cost of building and the floor for accessing data; you'll exploit both to run more shots on goal than any growth team we've competed with.
- Sign-up, trial, and monetization experiences. Every step from first touch to upgrade is yours to interrogate and improve — and when the fastest path is shipping a small change yourself, you're dangerous enough with AI coding tools to do exactly that.
- Own the design of the self-serve journey — website, sign-up, onboarding, activation, engagement, and monetization — and its key metrics.
- Proactively discover growth opportunities and shape the backlog: dig into product data, watch sessions, talk to users, and build the justification for what the team should work on next — rather than waiting to be told.
- Be the team's resident expert on interaction patterns in the age of AI: study how the best products onboard new users, solve the cold start problem, build trust in AI output, and convert — and translate what works into our journey.
- Design growth experiences native to an agentic product: how users first meet Spark, build trust in its outputs, form habits around it, and expand their teams onto it.
- Design and run experiments end to end: define the hypothesis, build the variant, instrument it, read the results, and decide what's next.
- Ship small changes yourself where it's faster — a sign-up flow tweak, onboarding copy, an upgrade prompt — moving ideas from Figma to prototype to live experiment with AI coding tools.
- Partner tightly with growth PMs, engineers, and data — and closely with the Product Executive team, including the VP of Growth — while being able to carry a workstream from insight to shipped experiment largely on your own.
- Raise the craft bar: even at experiment velocity, what we ship should feel considered, polished, and unmistakably Productboard.
- 5+ years in product design with meaningful time on growth — activation, onboarding, monetization, or lifecycle — ideally in product-led B2B SaaS. We'll level the role (senior or above) to match your experience and the ownership you've carried.
- You're a nerd for how products grow. You deconstruct onboarding flows for fun, you have opinions on how the best AI products solve the cold start problem, and you maintain a running mental library of activation and monetization patterns — refreshed constantly, because you sign up for the newest tools the week they ship.
- Your product intuition has earned you a seat at the roadmap. You've flexed into PM territory — not by title, but because you understood users so deeply that you could identify what actually mattered and make the call on what to build next. You don't need a roadmap handed to you.
- You're data-literate and you back the feel up with numbers. You pull your own funnels, define success metrics for your work, and let evidence settle design debates — intuition opens the question, data closes it.
- You've operated in (or at the standard of) an AI-first company. AI isn't a feature you designed once; it's how you work. You use AI tools daily to research, prototype, build, and analyze.
- You're dangerous enough with AI coding tools to ship. When the fastest path to learning is making the change yourself — a sign-up tweak, a copy experiment, an interactive prototype in Claude Code or Cursor — you can do it. Code is a means for you, not the identity.
- You have a strong bias for action. Your default is to ship the smallest testable version this week, learn, and iterate — while knowing when a moment in the journey deserves deep craft.
- Excellent interaction and visual design skills, with a portfolio of shipped work that shows measurable impact on activation, conversion, or revenue — not just polished screens.
- You understand the business side of growth: pricing and packaging dynamics, conversion economics, and how design decisions ripple into revenue.
- Excellent communicator: you can present an experiment readout to executives as clearly as you can pair with an engineer on implementation.
- Design growth for the first agentic product system — a category being defined right now, with patterns nobody has established yet. Your work becomes the reference others copy.
- Operate the way the industry's best AI-first design teams do — with the autonomy, tooling, and velocity to match. This is where the next generation of growth designers gets built.
- Your users are product makers themselves — the most discerning, design-literate audience there is. When your onboarding works on them, it works.
- Be part of a mission-driven company in the middle of its boldest transformation, with the opportunity to directly shape how thousands of product teams adopt AI-first product craft.
- Collaborate with a talented, passionate team dedicated to making products that matter, together.
