A Day in the Life

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare and review internal financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses for leadership.
  • Ensure accurate and organized financial records in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Perform account analysis, investigate discrepancies, and implement solutions to maintain data integrity across accounting and reporting systems.
  • Manage documentation for annual financial reviews or audits conducted by external accounting firms.
  • Collaborate with FP&A and other departments to support cross-functional reporting, provide insights, and improve decision-making.
  • Lead or participate in special projects, including process improvements, automation initiatives, and reporting enhancements.
  • Mentor junior accountants and provide guidance on accounting best practices and compliance.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4–7 years of accounting or financial reporting experience (public accounting or SaaS industry experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, with solid exposure to revenue recognition (ASC 606), internal controls, and audit processes.
  • Demonstrated experience leading month-end close and preparing financial statements independently.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, reporting tools).
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and close management/reconciliation tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence business partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
