Cassia, a nonprofit senior living organization, is hiring a Senior Staff Accountant to join our Corporate Office team! This is a great opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to bring their expertise to a mission-driven organization dedicated to serving older adults. As a Senior Staff Accountant, you’ll prepare monthly financial statements, assist with budgets, audits, Medicare and Medicaid cost reports, tax reporting, and other accounting functions for assigned locations. The ideal candidate has a 2-year accounting degree or 4+ years of related experience, strong Excel skills, and excellent attention to detail. Position Type: Full-Time, benefits eligible position
Wage Range: $60,000 - $75,000 annually depending on experience
Location: 7171 Ohms Lane, Edina, MN, 55439. This is a hybrid position which does include onsite at the corporate office in Edina.
Senior Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
- Prepare/finalize monthly financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, and supplemental schedules) for multiple housing, care center, and other related businesses (owned and managed).
- File & pay sales tax returns for assigned locations in multiple states.
- Assist with budget preparation for assigned locations.
- Assist with audit work papers for assigned locations.
- Prepare/assist with annual Medicare & Medicaid cost reports.
- Assist with 990 tax returns.
- Respond to required surveys or other organization or government reporting for assigned facilities.
- Approve vendors & review AP invoices.
- Review preprocessing payroll reports.
- Perform additional tasks as requested.
- 2+ year accounting degree or 4+ years of related experience required.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Strong Excel knowledge to develop spreadsheets and schedules related to accounting.
- Experience with Sage Intacct software a plus
