The Role

Job Description

The Position
In this role, the Senior Specialist – Payroll & HR Projects takes end‑to‑end ownership of payroll payment calculations related to employee separations, including voluntary and involuntary exits, within a global, centralized service model, working in close partnership with Global Employee Services (GES), HR Business Partners, Payroll, and other relevant stakeholders.

In addition, the role provides active support to Payroll and HR transformation initiatives, contributing to project execution related to payroll transformation, process harmonization, and continuous improvement to ensure consistent, compliant, and efficient Payroll and HR operations.

The role reports directly to the Director, ESS HR Services.

Key Responsibilities:

Global termination calculations

  • Collaborate with GES, HR or other relevant stakeholders to ensure proper reception of all relevant data for termination calculations
  • Execute calculations within the desired timeframe, where possible with the support of the payroll vendor
  • Submit completed calculations to GES operations and relevant Payroll Specialists for review and approval

Payroll Project Management Support

  • End‑to‑end execution of payroll transformation and implementation projects (e.g. vendor transitions, system upgrades, process harmonization).

  • Maintain detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and RAID logs (Risks, Actions, Issues, Dependencies).

  • Support process mapping, documentation, and updates to SOPs, RACI matrices, and payroll controls.

  • Support testing cycles (UAT/SIT)

Skills & Competencies

  • Deep understanding of Payroll components and in performing Payroll, optimally within a multinational environment
  • Understand proper taxation of employer payments and other additional benefits. Expertise in project management, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Experience providing project support, including coordinating activities, tracking progress, and reporting
  • Capability to collaborate effectively diverse across teams in a multinational setting, using project management tools to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant software (MS-Office) with working knowledge in PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Organized and able to prioritize workload and manage deadlines with attention to detail
  • Experience and reliability in dealing with confidential materials
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and function effectively as a team member
  • Pro-active communication skills

 Education, Experience

  • Degree in Human Resources management, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5-8 years of experience in Human Resources or Payroll, preferably in a similar specialist or senior role within an international or shared services environment
  • Experience leading or coordinating workstreams, activities, or deliverables within Payroll and/or HR projects
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Additional language skills are considered an advantage
