What you will do
Develop and implement sourcing strategies and objectives for assigned commodities within Stryker’s Communications business (integrated operating room solutions), supporting divisional performance and business objectives.
Lead and manage a team of approximately four employees based in the US (Texas) and at our Tuttlingen site in Germany, as well as cross-functional groups, to drive strategic commodity planning, consolidation initiatives, and spend and supply assessments across the full product lifecycle.
Oversee sourcing analysis and selection processes, conduct cost evaluations, and perform make-versus-buy assessments as needed.
Direct the creation of contract strategies; negotiate, establish, monitor, and enforce supplier contracts and agreements.
Identify supply base risks and develop and implement mitigation plans, including market assessments and evaluations of supplier financial stability, social responsibility, environmental impact, and ethical standards.
Gather and share information on market conditions and technology trends related to commodities and suppliers, using this insight to implement effective cost controls and adapt business strategies.
Lead the development and execution of strategies and objectives for assigned commodities in alignment with divisional business priorities.
Design and apply enterprise-wide metrics, tools, and processes to enhance sourcing and supplier management activities.
What you need
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering or related field, required
Leadership experience is a must have
7+ years in Supply Management with focus on strategic sourcing and supplier development
Knowledge and application of supplier contract strategy, negotiations, contractual terms, and contract administration
Knowledge of continuous improvement and cost reduction methodologies
Experience with supplier metrics & measurement methodologies and supporting systems.
Strong skills in leadership, negotiations, influencing, communication & presentation, project management, troubleshooting & problem solving, analysis, strategic thinking, and collaborative team building.
Strong judgment with the ability to make and communicate timely and sound decisions
Fluent language skills in German and English speaking and writing
Valid car driving license class B
Additional Information
Thanks to our flexible working hours model, you have the opportunity to work partially from home. However, regular on-site presence at our Tuttlingen site for at least two days per week is expected in order to build sustainable relationships and maintain personal contact with the team, colleagues, and cross-functional departments.
Travel requirements may be up to approximately 20% (e.g. visits at our site in Flower Mound/Texas, supplier visits, etc.).
