An overview of this role

As a Solutions Architect at GitLab, based in Singapore, you’ll help prospects and customers understand how our Agentic DevSecOps platform can support their technical requirements and business goals across fast paced AI-driven software development lifecycles. You’ll act as a trusted technical advisor through complex evaluations, guide teams through digital transformation, and connect customer needs back to our product direction. Reporting to a regional Solutions Architect leader, you’ll work closely with Account Executives and cross-functional partners across Asia. You’ll focus on successful agentic platform adoption, strong technical evaluations, and building trusted relationships that highlight the value we bring in an AI-driven DevSecOps landscape.

You’ll work at the intersection of customer outcomes, modern software delivery, cloud, security, and emerging agentic AI workflows, helping organizations ship trusted software at the speed of imagination.

What you will do
  • Work with Account Executives and regional sales teams to shape technical account strategies that increase qualified pipeline and support expansion opportunities.
  • Run technical discovery sessions, product demonstrations, and validation activities to define success criteria and accelerate technical validation across the software development lifecycle.
  • Own technical evaluations as the primary point of contact, including proof of concept and proof of value activities, solution design, and workshop delivery that produce documented outcomes and clear next-step decisions.
  • Develop solution architectures that align GitLab capabilities with customer environments, priorities, and operating models to reduce implementation risk and speed time to value.
  • Guide customers on modern software development practices, including continuous integration, continuous deployment, security, and cloud adoption, to improve delivery consistency and security readiness.
  • Build strong relationships with technical practitioners and business stakeholders to strengthen alignment, shorten decision cycles, and support GitLab-based transformation efforts.
  • Create reusable technical examples, best practices, and collateral that improve team effectiveness, reduce time spent recreating customer-facing assets, and inform customer and partner conversations.
  • Provide customer feedback, field insights, and market observations to Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing to influence roadmap priorities and strengthen market positioning.
What you will bring
  • Experience working with customers in technical pre-sales, consulting, or similar customer-facing roles. Minimum 2+ years of presales or equivalent client-facing experience with a total of 5+ years of industry experience is required.
  • Ability to run technical evaluations such as proofs of concept, proofs of value, workshops, tenders, audits, or value stream assessments.
  • Working knowledge of the end-to-end software development lifecycle, including DevSecOps practices and continuous integration and continuous deployment workflows. Competent knowledge of generative AI and agentic technologies will be a plus.
  • Hands-on familiarity with GitLab or similar DevSecOps or software delivery platforms.
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to adapt technical messages for practitioners, technical stakeholders, and senior business stakeholders.
  • Strength in building credibility, listening carefully, developing technical champions and representing customer needs to internal teams.
  • Interest in continuous learning, knowledge exchange, and developing expertise in GitLab, AI, and related cloud technologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, self-managed environments, or transferable experience from related technical fields is welcomed.

What We Do

GitLab is the Intelligent Orchestration Platform where software teams and their AI agents stay in flow to amplify their capacity for innovation. Together, they automate repetitive tasks to plan, build, secure, test, deploy and maintain software. With GitLab, software teams spend less time on coordination overhead and more time on the next big idea. What started in 2011 as an open source project to help one team of programmers collaborate is now the intelligent orchestration platform millions of people use to deliver software faster, more efficiently, while strengthening security and compliance. Since the beginning, we've been firm believers in remote work, open source, DevSecOps, and iteration. We get up and log on in the morning to work alongside the GitLab community to deliver new innovations every month that help teams and their AI agents ship great code faster.
