Schrodinger, Inc. seeks a Senior. Solutions Architect II for its New York, NY location.
Duties: Provide technical input during customer pre-sales engagements, technical scoping, installation, testing, customization & training of end-users on Schrodinger’s highly specialized scientific computing platform & in-house drug discovery programs. Enable customers & end-users in making effective use of Schrodinger’s Enterprise Informatics & High-Performance Computing (HPC) software solutions, encompassing large-scale cheminformatics, data management & computational modeling delivery systems geared towards molecular design for drug & materials development. Ensure Schrodinger’s drug discovery software performs optimally in the customer environment (which ranges from small on-prem server setups to sophisticated HPC & cloud environments such as AWS, Azure and GCloud). Design & implement optimal deployment strategies & custom interfaces for integration w/ customer systems & technologies. Collaborate w/ the customers on installation, configuration & update/maintenance of on-premises or cloud-hosted installations of our scientific computing & enterprise software applications. Collaborate w/ product managers, developers & scientists to improve deployment, support & configuration of Schrodinger’s applications. Assist & lead the migration of all cloud-hosted deployments from monolithic architecture to microservice-driven Kubernetes-based architecture on AWS & GCP. Collaborate w/ the internal QA team, to streamline issue navigation & bug-reporting processes within the SA team. Develop tools & technologies w/ the SA team to reduce the burden of support & improve team-wide quality-of-life.
Requirements: Master’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Materials Science or a closely related scientific field plus 2 years (or a Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years) of technical work experience as a Solutions Architect, QA Scientist, Senior Engineer, Senior Applications Scientist or closely related position involving research data management and/or computational solutions for drug discovery. Experience must include: Mentoring colleagues, developing Standard Operating Procedures, creating and maintaining detailed documents; Using Jira, Confluence, Python, Terraform, Salesforce, Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Google Kubernetes Engine, Kubernetes and Linux Bash Scripting; Experience with bioassay & analytical method development; and end-user expert experience in data handling with Electronic Lab Notebooks. May work from home but must be able to report to New York, New York office at least 2 days per week. Salary is $137,200 to $151,600 per year. 40 hrs/wk.
