About the Opportunity:

We're looking for a Senior System Test Engineer to lead end-to-end testing, system integration, automation, and validation of Ericsson Private 5G solutions ( BEWS - Private Networks). In this role, you'll work across 5G Core, RAN, Kubernetes, and cloud-native platforms, drive quality through automation and CI/CD, troubleshoot complex network issues, and collaborate with global teams to deliver world-class telecom solutions.
What You Will Do:
• Architect E2E Test Strategies: Lead the design and evolution of comprehensive system test strategies for Ericsson Private 5G (EP5G) solutions, ensuring alignment with 3GPP standards and customer requirements.• System Integration Leadership: Oversee the integration of complex 5G components, including Cloud-Native Core, RAN, Transport Management/Orchestration (MANO) platforms.• Advanced Validation: Drive end-to-end (E2E) validation across performance, scalability, and security, utilizing CI/CD pipelines to ensure high-quality software delivery.• Expert Troubleshooting: Ability to troubleshoot complex protocol-level issues, utilizing deep-dive analysis of NAS/AS signaling and interface traces (S1, N1, N2, N3, etc.).• Process Innovation: Evangelize "Shift-Left" testing methodologies and drive the adoption of automated, cloud-native testing frameworks.• Cross-Functional Influence: Partner with Product Management, Product Development and influence the product roadmap based on quality metrics and field insights.• Mentorship: Technical lead for the testing organization, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning among junior and mid-level engineers.
Skills You Bring:
Bachelor's/Master's in CS, EE, or related field with 12+ years of deep experience in Telecom/Network testing.
Domain Expertise: Mastery of 3GPP 4G/5G architectures and signaling protocols (NAS, S1AP, NGAP, RRC, HTTP/2) with a proven track record of debugging multi-interface call flows.
Cloud-Native Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s), Docker, and Helm charts within a 5G Core context.
Networking Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of L2/L3 networking, including OSPF, BGP, IPsec, and VLANs, specifically in a distributed or hybrid-cloud environment.
Automation Skills: Familiarity with Python and Robot Framework; experience in automating Test cases.
Testing Skills: Experience in analyzing requirements, preparing test plans and test cases.
Infrastructure Skills: Strong Linux internals knowledge and experience with virtualization (KVM/VMware) and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
Tooling: Familiarity with industry-standard test tools (e.g., Spirent, Keysight, Viavi) and API testing (REST/Postman).
Soft Skills: Cross functional collaboration, Prepare test metrics, Communication and Presentation skills.
