We’re seeking someone to join our team as a Senior Software Engineer in Equity Structured Products Trading, who will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, solution design, development, testing, and support of applications.

In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is a Director Software Engineering role, which is part of the job family responsible for creating front-to-back solutions for capturing and processing complex equity derivative product data.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Perform daily hands-on software development and deliver high-quality code. 

  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, architecture, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.

  • Perform daily hands-on software development, writing high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code using modern engineering practices.

  • Design, develop, and enhance new and existing applications and components that support the Equity Structured Products Trading business.

  • Investigate production and non-production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement robust solutions to improve system stability, performance, and reliability.

  • Collaborate with traders, business users, business analysts, and fellow engineers to understand requirements and translate them into effective technology solutions.

  • Work closely with a globally distributed development team across New York, London, Budapest, Bangalore, Mumbai, and Hong Kong.

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable, resilient, and loosely coupled distributed systems.

  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture decisions while promoting engineering best practices.

  • Support Agile development processes and DevOps principles, taking ownership of software quality and operational excellence.

  • Continuously improve existing systems, identify optimization opportunities, and contribute to the strategic evolution of the platform.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • 5+ years of software development experience using JVM-based technologies, preferably in a multinational or global organization.
  • Experience with Scala or a strong desire and aptitude to learn and work with Scala.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, distributed systems, and modern software engineering principles.
  • Proven experience designing and developing scalable systems composed of loosely coupled and interoperable components.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience working within Agile development environments.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and production support activities.
  • Interest in financial markets and the technology that powers trading businesses.
