As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who has a passion for developing software solutions to join our Engineering Team. The ideal candidate will have deep experience working in high-volume production environments, designing and building distributed architectures utilizing various cloud services (AWS Lambda/SQS/etc.), web application frameworks (Node/React) and database technologies (MongoDB/DynamoDB/MySQL/etc.). They will be a key member of a small team developing and supporting applications in a microservice architecture of a next-generation communication platform for the insurance industry. We thrive on teamwork and shared enthusiasm, which is why this role involves joining us in the office for two days each week.

What You'll Do: 

  • Design, develop and help coach the team in the implementation of new and improvement of existing functionality within the Hi Marley architecture
  • Assist in solving complex problems and transform them into business solutions
  • Mentor and participate in reviews of other projects, offering valuable feedback
  • Work with the team to develop stories and acceptance criteria
  • Contribute to a highly motivated, positive, high energy work environment
  • Technically own a part of the Hi Marley platform
  • Help drive Marley’s user and developer experience towards the future

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of software development experience. High performing candidates that have less experience are welcome and encouraged to apply.
  • Track record of successful delivery of high-quality applications and features to production systems.
  • Experience with distributed architectures, ideally in the AWS ecosystem
  • Experience with relational and document-oriented databases. Including tuning and scaling
  • Passion for test frameworks, CI/CD pipelines and code management tools
  • Passion for design patterns and refactoring
  • Experience in Node, Typescript, and modern frontend frameworks (React) preferred
