Azure Front Door powers application delivery, acceleration, security, load management, and Internet routing for Microsoft, LinkedIn, Azure, Microsoft 365, Xbox, and thousands of customers worldwide. The service operates one of the largest edge networks in the industry, processing massive amounts of traffic across a globally distributed fleet. The existing AFD Senior Engineer template emphasizes building globally distributed, scalable, low-latency services that power critical Microsoft and Azure workloads.
We are looking for a hands-on Senior Software Engineer to join Azure Front Door's Linux Infrastructure team. This team owns the foundational Linux platform that powers AFD's global edge fleet, including operating system lifecycle, Kubernetes infrastructure, fleet management, security, performance optimization, and platform reliability. We are not looking for architects who primarily build roadmaps. We are looking for engineers who can independently drive complex initiatives from idea to production, solve difficult system-level problems, and lead small crews of engineers to deliver meaningful customer impact.
You will help shape the future of Azure Front Door by enabling adoption of the latest innovations across Linux, Kubernetes, hardware acceleration, networking, operating systems, and security technologies. Your work will directly influence AFD's ability to deliver industry-leading performance, reliability, and security while maintaining its position as a best-in-class CDN and edge platform.
