We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Product Applications team and build the next generation of Anecdotes’ product experiences.
We’re looking for engineers first - not specialists defined by one part of the stack. You’ll own complex product capabilities end-to-end, from architecture and backend systems to the user-facing experience, working closely with Product and other R&D teams.
You don’t need to be equally strong across every layer, but you should be curious and comfortable stepping beyond your primary expertise when the product needs it. Experience with frontend development, particularly React and TypeScript, is a strong advantage.
What You'll Do- Build Key Product Capabilities - Design, build, and scale high-quality features at the heart of the Anecdotes platform.
- Own Features End-to-End - Take complex product initiatives from technical design and architecture through implementation, production, and continuous iteration.
- Partner with Product - Work closely with Product to understand customer needs and business challenges and turn them into simple, powerful technical solutions.
- Collaborate Across R&D - Work closely with engineers across different teams to build cross-platform capabilities and solve complex technical challenges.
- Raise the Bar - Mentor other engineers, lead technical initiatives, and continuously improve our development practices, tools, and frameworks.
- 6+ years of software engineering experience, with strong backend engineering fundamentals - Must.
- “Can do” attitude and the will to tackle any challenge head first, pushing it all the way to production.
- Strong experience building, designing and shipping complex, production-grade product applications.
- Hands-on experience with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Strong product mindset and the ability to understand a problem beyond the technical requirements and help shape the right solution.
- Ability to mentor engineers, lead technical initiatives, and collaborate effectively within and across teams.
- BSc in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong AI adoption.
Skills Required
- 6+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend engineering fundamentals
- Experience building and shipping complex, production-grade product applications
- Extensive hands-on experience with Python or another modern high-level programming language
- Experience designing and developing distributed systems and microservices architectures
- Strong understanding of databases, data modeling, API design, and scalable system architecture
- Hands-on experience with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Strong product mindset and ability to shape technical solutions around customer and business needs
- Ability to independently own complex initiatives from idea to production
- Ability to mentor engineers, lead technical initiatives, and collaborate across teams
- BSc in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- Frontend development experience with React and TypeScript
- Experience building products or features using LLMs, AI agents, or agentic workflows
- Experience integrating AI capabilities into production applications
- Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
