The Role
Design and maintain scalable build, CI/CD, development, and verification infrastructure for NVIDIA networking products. Architect workflows across repositories and teams, migrate legacy processes to unified infrastructure, and optimize reliability, security, reproducibility, and performance. Develop production-grade Python tooling, configure build systems, manage automation and testing, and collaborate cross-functionally. The role also involves technical leadership, mentoring, system debugging, and improving engineering processes and architecture.

NVIDIA Networking Business Unit is looking for an experienced Software Developer with strong Python and build-infrastructure skills to join our team. You will be responsible for designing and implementing the development, build, and verification flows behind our networking products. If you're creative, responsible, hardworking, and autonomous, we want to hear from you!

What you’ll be doing:

  • Design and implement the build and CI/CD infrastructure for our networking products, from source to released artifacts.
  • Architect and evolve end-to-end development and verification flows that scale across many repositories, products, and teams.
  • Migrate existing engineering workflows onto a unified, scalable infrastructure and optimize them for speed and reliability.
  • Make sure our flows are secure, reliable, reproducible, and fast, and that regressions are caught early.
  • Work with various teams inside NVIDIA and share technologies, infrastructure, and best practices across many products.

What you should know:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in Python software development and code architecture — automation, tooling, and infrastructure services, with clean, maintainable, production-grade code.
  • Practical experience with build systems and their configuration languages (Starlark or equivalent): writing, refactoring, and maintaining build rules, macros, and targets for large multi-language codebases. Practical experience with version control systems (Git, Perforce).
  • Solid DevOps background: CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance, containerization, artifact and dependency management, infrastructure as code, and keeping build and test infrastructure healthy at scale.
  • Software flows architecture: ability to design end-to-end development, build, and verification flows that connect multiple tools, repositories, and teams, with attention to scalability, reproducibility, and runtime efficiency.
  • English — Advanced Level.
  • Strong ability to learn new technologies, conduct research, and analyze complex tasks.
  • Effective cross-team collaboration and communication skills, with experience working in Agile/SCRUM teams. Ability to assess and improve the code, processes, and architecture of existing systems.
  • Strong background in designing, implementing, debugging and testing complex software.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Knowledge of Bazel: hermetic and remote builds, remote caching and execution, custom rules and toolchains, migration of legacy build systems, and build performance tuning on large monorepos.
  • Technical leadership experience: leading projects end to end or serving as technical lead of a team — driving multi-quarter initiatives, breaking down scope, aligning stakeholders, and mentoring engineers while staying hands-on.
  • R&D mindset: ability to work in fast-paced, evolving environments with new technologies. Skilled at collaborating cross-functionally with other teams and partnering with architects to anticipate, explore, and define edge cases in specifications, ensuring future-proof and scalable solutions.
  • Proficient in software test automation and test case design: strong ability to design comprehensive and efficient test cases, ensuring coverage of edge cases and critical scenarios. Experienced in developing and maintaining automated testing frameworks to validate functionality, performance, and reliability, streamlining the QA process and improving overall software quality.
  • Strong Linux skills: administration, troubleshooting, and shell scripting (Bash).
