The right person for this role is as comfortable coaching and influencing as they are architecting solutions. You bring strong technical credibility, a bias toward standardization, and a genuine desire to help teams grow their own capabilities.
You'll champion the adoption of AI-powered tooling across the DevOps practice - from intelligent CI/CD pipelines and automated code review to AI-assisted incident response and infrastructure management. We're looking for someone curious about how AI can reduce toil, speed up delivery, and elevate the team's capabilities, not just someone who follows existing playbooks.
What You'll Do:
- Partner with engineering teams across the Release Train to identify gaps in DevOps maturity and drive targeted improvements.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot cross functional production service issues.
- Define and champion standards, patterns, and best practices for CI/CD, infrastructure, cloud, and containerization - making it easy for teams to do the right thing.
- Act as a force multiplier: guide teams to implement solutions themselves rather than creating dependency on the DevOps function.
- Collaborate with your DevOps peer to ensure consistent tooling, shared practices, and coordinated delivery across teams.
- Identify systemic friction points across the Release Train and drive cross-team alignment to resolve them.
- Contribute to roadmaps, standards documentation, and community of practice forums that scale DevOps knowledge organization-wide.
- Evaluate and recommend tooling improvements that reduce toil and increase developer productivity.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 4 years' experience in a related field; or a different combination, such as a master's degree and 2 years' experience; a Ph.D. and 1 years' experience in a related field; or 8 years' experience in a related field with no degree.
- Proven ability to influence outcomes across multiple teams without direct authority - a natural coach and collaborator.
- Deep experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines at scale (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent).
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GHE) and a solid understanding of cloud-native patterns.
- Proficiency with container orchestration technologies, particularly Kubernetes.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CDK.
- Strong ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to engineers and non-engineers alike.
- A systems thinker who looks for root causes and scalable solutions rather than one-off fixes.
Nice to have
- Experience working within a SAFe or Agile Release Train structure.
- Familiarity with developer experience (DevEx) principles and inner-loop optimization.
- Background in platform or enabling team models (e.g. Team Topologies).
- Experience building or contributing to internal developer platforms.
- Core technologies
- CI/CD (Jenkins / GitHub Actions) AWS Terraform CDK Docker Git
