The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Java-based application development, microservices architecture, and API engineering, with a strong focus on backend system design, performance, scalability, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build and support scalable, secure, and resilient microservices-based architectures.
- Design and develop RESTful APIs and service integrations that support internal and external business applications.
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, business analysts, and engineering teams to deliver technical solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Lead the technical design and implementation of complex software initiatives.
- Drive coding best practices, design standards, and code review activities.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and operational stability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while implementing long-term solutions.
- Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to the technical growth of the engineering team.
- Support DevOps and CI/CD processes to streamline software delivery and deployment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Java
- Spring Boot
- Microservices Architecture
- RESTful API Development
- Backend Application Development
- Experience developing distributed, high-throughput, and highly available systems.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and design patterns.
- Experience with application performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience working in cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar event-driven architectures.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
- Experience working within financial services, banking, or highly regulated industries.
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and influence engineering best practices.
- Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Provides detailed technical design and development of software solutions using existing and emerging technology platforms.
- Proposes & designs software solutions to address complex business needs.
- Writes code, tests and deploys software.
- Prepares technical and procedural documentation required for software.
- Maintains and debugs software.
