Your Impact

As a Senior Software Engineer you will design, build, and operate the core identity services that power authentication, authorization, and user lifecycle management across Splunk and Cisco products. You will architect scalable and secure APIs, unify identity systems, and serve as a subject matter expert on modern identity protocols. Your work will directly strengthen platform security, improve customer trust, and influence our long-term identity strategy. You will also explore opportunities to use AI/ML to increase automation and improve identity protection. Success in this role means delivering reliable services, driving technical perfection, and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams to ship impactful solutions. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong, hands-on C++ and Go experience building secure, scalable, high-throughput production services. 

  • Strong, hands-on C++ experience in production systems, including authentication or systems-level, performance-sensitive code. 

  • Ability to work effectively across Go services and existing C++ Splunkd or authentication-integration components. 

  • Deep knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, token and session lifecycle, and authorization models such as RBAC and ABAC. 

  • Experience designing and operating secure, distributed, fault-tolerant systems. 

  • Ability to lead technical design, resolve complex production issues, and make sound security and architectural trade-offs. 

  • Strong automated-testing, observability, CI/CD, and on-call/service-ownership practices. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • OAuth device-code flow, CLI authentication, Okta, service identities, and secure-production-access workflows. 

  • Experience leading identity-platform integrations, service modernization, or cross-language migration work. 

  • Performance profiling, incident leadership, and debugging complex production failures. 

  • Experience mentoring engineers and driving technical decisions across security, platform, and partner teams. 

  • LDAP, KV Store, SAML migration or deprecation, and identity-platform integration. 

  • Go-based sidecars, service runtimes, and host/service integration. 

  • Kubernetes operations, E2E test pipelines, production dashboards, and secure-access auditing.
