About this opportunity
We are establishing SW 9 as a new section within Simulation Services (SIMS/EPO) and are looking for an engaged, forward-looking Section Manager to build the team and shape its direction. The section will contribute to the development and evolution of Ericsson's Digital UE Simulator capabilities for 5G and 6G.
Your mission
As Section Manager, you will lead people, technology and delivery in a growing software environment. You will establish a clear mission for the section, build an effective team and ensure that priorities, capabilities and ways of working support SIMS/EPO objectives.
What you will do
- Build and lead the new SW section, including its team identity, competence, structure and ways of working.
- Drive software-based and scalable UE simulation that supports digital end-to-end verification.
- Drive quality assurance across full-stack and baseband-focused testing, with strong observability and improved usability to enable earlier, more efficient verification of features, systems, capacity, robustness and stability.
- Ensure that simulator capabilities, interfaces, data, metrics, logs and APIs support increasingly automated and AI-enabled engineering workflows.
- Lead your team in the AI transformation of software development by embedding AI-enabled tools and practices across the engineering lifecycle, from requirements and design through implementation, testing, delivery and continuous improvement.
- Coach and develop employees, strengthen critical competencies and create an inclusive, accountable and high-performing environment.
- Ensure strong delivery performance, quality, predictability, risk management and continuous improvement.
You will bring
- Proven people leadership experience and the ability to build trust, provide direction and enable others to succeed.
- Proven experience from software development, product development, simulation, test environments or a comparable engineering domain.
- Demonstrated ability to drive AI transformation and build strong AI software-development capabilities across a section, including hands-on understanding of AI-enabled engineering tools, responsible adoption, workflow redesign, competence development and measurable improvements in quality, speed and efficiency.
- The ability to connect strategic direction with practical execution and sustained follow-through.
- Strong stakeholder-management, communication, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
- Experience leading change and creating structure and momentum in an evolving organizational environment.
- A relevant university degree or equivalent professional experience.
