Overview
Next Edge represents the next phase in the advancement of our digital transformation of CORE Payment Networks and is a significant evolution for MasterCard. We continue to evolve our cloud first and meet the customer where they are as key strategies to support aggressive growth plans, and we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, who will play a crucial role in developing high-quality software solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring our products are up-to-date with the latest technologies. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about innovation, problem-solving, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Role
• Deliver internal software tools that increase productivity
• Work closely with technical leads for assigned projects to assist in design and implementation tasks
• Build high quality code and automated test plans that drive quicker turnaround time to market.
All About you Responsibilities
• Participate in the scoping, design, and implementation of complex features.
• Design and implement microservices and backend tools.
• Drive performance, reliability, and readability in the codebase through writing and reviewing code.
• Mentor junior software engineers and teammates.
• Innovate improvements to team development processes.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Customer Experience Designers to understand user needs and apply that knowledge to scoping and building new modules and features.
Skills/experience
- Expert experience in GoLang
- Nice to have experience in Java, C# or Rust
• Experience with the design and implementation of complex features in full-stack applications
• Experience working in a large project and working with other developers
• Proficiency with object-oriented languages, system programming and real-time transaction systems
• Strong technologist eager to learn new technologies and frameworks
• Customer-centric development approach
• Strong collaboration skills with experience collaborating with people across various roles around the globe
• Motivation, creativity, self-direction, and desire to thrive on small project teams
• Superior academic record with a degree in Computer Science or related technical field • Strong written and verbal English communication skills

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
