Your Opportunity:
This position is a full-time, in-person position reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer. A Consumer Compliance Specialist has a key role in the implementation of policy and regulatory requirements in areas of consumer protection, banking, privacy, and other relevant federal, state, and local regulations. A Consumer Compliance Specialist determines if modifications are necessary through continuous monitoring, reviews, and research procedures to avoid internal oversight by the institution.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Review:
  • Ensure all marketing and customer-facing materials comply with FTC, CFPB, and other federal regulations.
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory changes, updating materials and procedures accordingly.
    • Review legal disclosures and correspondence to align business practices with consumer compliance regulations.
    • Integrate effective controls and ongoing monitoring into new and existing applicable business capabilities.
    • Ensure compliance between the financial institution and all applicable laws and industry best practices for social media when utilized by employees and representatives.
  • Partnership Management:
  • Oversee and manage communications with sponsoring partners and third-party vendors to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with partners and vendors to align on regulatory requirements and maintain consistent messaging.
    • Contribute to developing documentation and approval of compliance parameters for projects, capability development framework, and other related tasks across different business components.
  • Policy Development and Training:
  • Design and implement comprehensive compliance policies across the organization.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to ensure all employees understand and adhere to compliance policies.
    • Serve as a resource for implementing and executing of policy and regulatory requirements in the areas of consumer protection, banking, privacy, and other relevant federal, state, and local regulations throughout product design and marketing campaign development.
    • Monitor and report any potential violations of the Social Media Compliance Policy.
  • Complaint Management:
  • Lead the resolution of customer complaints, particularly those involving regulatory bodies like the BBB and CFPB.
  • Coordinate with legal and customer service teams to ensure complaints are handled promptly and in compliance with all regulations.
    • Conduct compliance monitoring reviews to detect and address systemic and procedural issues.
    • Identify areas that contain compliance violations and execute necessary remediations.

  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail, strong work ethic, good humor, and enthusiasm for tackling complex challenges.
  • Ability to drive multiple projects simultaneously, with an effective resolution of competing priorities.
  • Exceptional listening and analytical skills.
  • Solid time management skills.
  • Must be able to effectively deal with people at all levels inside and outside of the company.
  • Ability to multitask and successfully operate in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Must adapt well to change and successfully set and adjust priorities, as needed.


Job Requirements:

  • Bilingual (English & Spanish), preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of FTC, CFPB, and other relevant federal regulatory bodies and related regulations.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Experience in policy development and employee training.
  • Ability to manage relationships with external partners and regulatory bodies.


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
