We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Bangalore. This is an exciting opportunity to work on ProQuest, a leading product in our portfolio. If you love coding in Java and Angular, we’d love to hear from you! We’re specifically looking for someone with experience in Java 11 and Angular 14+. But don’t be discouraged if you don’t tick every box—we’re a large team of experienced Java engineers, and if you’re enthusiastic about learning, we’ll provide all the support you need to grow into a confident Full-Stack Engineer. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable software solutions, mentoring junior engineers, and driving engineering best practices across the team.
About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Design, or related fields, or 3-5 years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in software engineering techniques and methodologies
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 11, Spring Boot, and REST APIs
- Proficiency with Angular 14+, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS
- Familiarity with databases (SQL/NoSQL), Git, and CI/CD tools
- Knowledge and experience in agile software development (e.g. SCRUM)
It would be great if you also had . . .
- Experience with Docker and cloud platforms (AWS).
- Exposure to microservices architecture.
- Background in Agile/Scrum environments.
What will you be doing in this role?
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Java 11 and Angular 14+.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features and enhancements.
- Lead and participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in both backend and frontend codebases.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and propose improvements to architecture and processes.
- The product you will be developing
We are building a web platform designed to store information about how PQ/Clarivate can sell access to monograph content and who should be paid royalties when a piece of content is sold. It supports different content sets like e-books, Dissertations, etc.
About the Team
MR3 is a team of 10 people with a QA and development team based between Bangalore and the U.S.
Hours of Work
40 hours per week, permanent full-time position
