Job Requisition ID #
Position Overview
At Autodesk Construction Solutions, we are looking for a Software Development Engineer with graphics skills in the web environment. Together, we will design, build, and run full-stack web, mobile, and cloud applications. As an experienced 2D and 3D graphics programmer, you will lead the design and implementation of features that integrate with our embedded web viewer. You will collaborate with other viewer experts inside and outside the team and contribute to the viewer platform.
Our team works in an AI-augmented environment — we use AI coding assistants and LLM-based tools daily to research, prototype, debug, and ship faster. You'll be the one deciding when and how these tools add value: knowing when to lean on them and when to trust your own judgment is part of the craft. We're looking for engineers who take ownership of that call and help us keep pushing what's possible.
You will be part of the Interactive Graphics Solutions (IGS) organization working on the viewer framework of Autodesk Forma, enabling our customers to work collaboratively. Join our global team of professionals and make your mark on the future of technology.
Responsibilities
- Take part in developing a cross-platform graphics engine for 2D & 3D visualization and collaboration
- Develop frontend components and tools to extend the experience around the graphics engine
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools (coding assistants, LLMs, agentic workflows) to accelerate prototyping, code generation, debugging, and research — and help the team raise the bar on how we use them
- Collaborate with software architects, product managers, designers, and developers in co-located teams across the globe
- Lead research and evaluation of new technologies
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with 3D computer graphics programming (WebGL/OpenGL/other)
- Hands-on experience in JavaScript
- Previous experience with front-end development
- Hands-on experience using AI coding tools in day-to-day development, with sound judgment about where they help and where human review is essential
- Keen interest in new technologies and their adoption
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a global, hybrid team environment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with professionals across different time zones
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related technology field, or engineering
Advantages
- Experience with performance optimization, WebGL or WebGPU, React, and JavaScript
- Familiarity with C++ and OpenGL
- Experience building or integrating LLM/AI features into applications, or designing agentic/AI-assisted workflows
The Ideal Candidate
You are a 3D computer graphics developer with web expertise built into your DNA. Creativity, working on large model rendering and improving code quality are your daily business. You proactively ideate about new and improved ways of doing things and are courageous enough to share your ideas with the engineering team. You're collaborative and quickly build relationships with your distributed colleagues. You enjoy succeeding and reaching the highest standards.
You treat AI tools as a force multiplier rather than a threat — curious, fast to adopt, and thoughtful about critically reviewing their output. You are keen to learn and work with the latest tools and technologies, taking direction and feedback from partners and team members.
