The Senior Software Engineer develops tests and maintains the CX software platform. Key responsibilities include all tiers of the technology, including (but not limited to) design and development of our products and features, unit testing, code reviews, resolving defects encountered during the QA cycle, supporting the production environment, and assisting other developers in a team environment utilizing agile development processes.
As a Senior Software Engineer, a Typical Day Might Include the Following:
- Leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to implement, test, and optimize user stories
- Collaborate as part of an agile development team focused primarily on Golang and Java
- Design and deliver high-quality, scalable software for our CX platform
- Contribute across all tiers of the stack — from APIs to infrastructure — with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability
- Conduct code reviews, write unit tests, and ensure the team delivers high-quality code on time
- Propose and implement process and platform improvements
- Work closely with product management and system analysts to define, refine, and deliver impactful features
- Conducting load testing and error testing to ensure APIs can handle high traffic and recover gracefully from failures.
- Support and troubleshoot issues in production environments when needed
To Land This Gig You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong experience with Golang and/or Java (willingness to learn new languages quickly)
- Experience deploying and running applications in AWS and Kubernetes environments
- Working knowledge of infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
- Solid understanding of software design principles, system architecture, and API design
- Working knowledge of unit testing and agile development practices (user stories, sprints, retrospectives, etc.)
- A solid understanding of error handling, retries, and graceful degradation in distributed systems.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- A collaborative mindset and a desire to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Bonus Experience:
- Proficiency with C# or other object-oriented languages
- Experience with SQL (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB, etc.) databases
- Familiarity with Git and cloud-based CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket, GitHub Actions, etc.)
- Hands-on test automation experience
- Prior exposure to observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, etc.)
- Experience with load and performance testing
