Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the Flight Simulator Training Devices and Cabin Crew Training Devices: Point of contact for complex issues (Software, and/or hardware, and/or performance-QTG), lead and offer technical support and on the job training to fellow engineers and technicians, short-term dispatch on AOG situations.
- Accountable for Software Configuration Control on all training devices. Debug, identify and actively participate in solving complex issues (software, and/or hardware, and/or performance-QTG). Develop, implement, test, integrate, and present fixes (local and/or from CAE-MTL) on all simulators. Monitor Sim issues and action / update issues that are assigned to the specialists.
- Participate in project reviews as required. Review system design and architecture to ensure it meets the requirements of the project and customers. Provide support to the CAE-MTL team during installation in terms of software integration, performance-QTG, and hardware requirements. Can be involved in the acceptance process, and the review and acceptance of the initial Master QTG.
- As applicable, be the main point of contact for the relevant authorities for recurrent evaluations, post evaluation status reports, and general authority related communications.
- Participate in regular technical meetings, NAA evaluation debrief meetings, and SLA review meetings with CAE upper management and/or the customer. Interact and work closely with customers, engineers, and the authorities. Coordinate with the CAE Customer Service to follow-up on business critical issues. Support the Service Level Agreements within the Middle East Region, with possible international travel.
- Comply with local & global CAE Environmental Health & Safety standards, instructions, and safe working procedures. Exercise duty of care for own H&S, and that of others who may be affected by his/her work.
Job-Related Skills/Background
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with minimum of seven to ten years related experience.
- Knowledge of CAE software and applications including but not limited to CAELIB, STARTEAM, Strive framework, Visual Systems, SIM XXI, Simfinity, Launchpad, ITMS.
- Knowledge of C, C++ and FORTRAN programming languages and scripting languages (Perl).
- Knowledge of Microsoft development tools for Windows platform (Visual Studio 6.0 and higher).
- Knowledge of simulated systems and instruments/avionics interface including but not limited to SIM XXI, CAE R3, R4, & R5 technology and 7000 XR.
- Self-motivated, dynamic, team player.
- Strong planning and organizational skill. Ability to adapt quickly to changes in technology.
- Demonstrate flexibility and strong project and assigned tasks ownership as well as ability to work and make decisions unsupervised.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems.
- Result-oriented.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good knowledge of Windows Environment and PC hardware.
- Good knowledge of simulated systems and the interface with Aircraft instruments and avionics.
- Advanced working knowledge of the following items: Operating system(s), Programming Language(s), Software and System Architecture, Software Development tools and utilities, Software configuration and Management Tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot & debug integrated systems.
- Good understanding of the relevant Configuration Management and Control process.
- Good knowledge of Flight Aerodynamics.
- Experience with Qualification Test Guide.
- Good knowledge of local & International (EASA, FAA, etc) regulations, with demonstrated experience, as they pertain to FSTDs.

Skills Required
