About the Role

We are currently looking forward to integrate a Senior Simulation Platform Engineer to our Data & Simulation team in Munich. This is your opportunity to build the virtual world where our autonomous robots are born and perfected. You will create the cutting-edge simulation platform that allows our engineering teams to test, validate, and innovate at massive scale, ensuring every system is ready for the real world before it ever touches the ground.

You will be at the heart of our engineering process, designing the cloud and infrastructure backbone that makes large-scale simulation practical and reproducible. By building a seamless developer workflow, your work will directly accelerate our iteration speed, expand test coverage, and give us unshakable confidence in the reliability of our autonomous systems.

What You’ll Build
  • The technical vision for a scalable platform that runs complex robotics simulation and automated validation workloads.
  • The core services and infrastructure needed to launch, schedule, and monitor simulation jobs across local, on-premise, and public-cloud environments.
  • Reliable orchestration for distributed workloads, including intelligent resource allocation, queuing, and failure handling.
  • Developer-friendly APIs and command-line tools that make sophisticated simulation accessible to every engineer, without needing deep infrastructure expertise.
  • Seamless integration of simulation into our CI/CD pipelines for fully automated regression and release validation.
  • The high-performance foundation of compute, GPU, storage, and observability needed to run simulation at scale.
  • A stable, unified execution environment that connects ROS2 middleware, vehicle software, and advanced simulation engines.
What You Bring
  • A strong track record of building and operating cloud platforms, developer platforms, or other compute-intensive infrastructure.
  • Strong software engineering skills, with proficiency in Python and/or C++.
  • Production experience with Kubernetes, containers, public cloud infrastructure (like AWS, GCP, or Azure), and CI/CD systems.
  • A deep understanding of designing distributed job execution, scheduling, or workflow orchestration systems.
  • A passion for creating powerful yet simple developer-facing APIs and tools for complex technical workflows.
  • Experience with platform observability, reliability, performance, and resource management.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to partner effectively with teams across cloud infrastructure, robotics, and data engineering.
  • Professional fluency in English.

Please note: You do not need to meet every single requirement to apply. We welcome motivated candidates who are eager to grow into the role and develop their expertise further.
